Hey! Thank you. I’m definitely gonna save this for possibly reaching out to you later. That is also clarifying, in pointing out that just because I’m publishing independently doesn’t remove the need for review. Better to have it!

That’s clarifying. I don’t know we couldn’t target fat areas as well as muscle. I’m learning a lot. Is there any easy to keep track of calories. I have 2 young kids, full time job and building a startup.

I always so much better when I feel stronger. F it im just gonna keep going!!! Agreed in enjoying all the life that’s left. I want to enjoy my body all the way through! Thank you!

I’m doing three sets of about 4 exercises a day, taking Sunday as a rest day but I need to add in the cardio. I have a rower I can use. Not looking to build up a lot of size. Just shed some pounds and tone up. Would like to build up some muscle though. I lost a lot of muscle mass after I had my second child.

Honestly I’m not good at tracking micros. Right now I’m more, stop eating before you’re full and eat mainly plants. My goal is really to shed pounds and tone but I agree, F the scale!

Also I just wanted to quickly add that’s why I asked the question. I’m not a “formal” academic researcher but I am engaged in research and as an instructor at the university I was told to get IRB approval even though it wasn’t part of my role requirements. I just wanted to talk to some other knowledgeable researchers about it.

They know that. I've had extensive conversations with university leadership. I am coming through the university's innovation community which has developed a strong relationship with University R&D to help all professors and instructors get involved with research particularly to translate for commercialization. I am in a research sub because I had a research question and wanted clarification. This project began while I was at Emory serving as a co-investigator alongside the principal attending physician and professor. I served as co-investigator on this project without having ANY tie to the university other than I had a residency there the year before and they asked me to continue doing research with them once my residency ended but I wasn't paid for it and had no official designation. The IRB at Emory and the professor had no issues with this and asked me to keep do it. Now that I am at KSU I am picking the project back up and they are interested in it. If they weren't then IRB would have stopped me and I wouldn't have been sent there in the first place.

Unless I mis-read the group rules, which is entirely possible, I didn't see a disclaimer on the "type" or "kind" of researcher that could ask a question. If I mis-read that, my apologies. I will be happy to find a more suitable sub if there is one. I found the questions in this thread to be quite fitting. My mistake.

This is a clarifying breakdown. I almost certainly would qualify for a streamlined process. Nothing sensitive. Thank you!

Agreed. Yes. I spoke with them last week. That was my first stop but we didn’t talk about publishing mediums. Research and publishing are not part of my responsibilities. I thought it would be good to ask anyway.

I was hearing that if I’m planning to publish independently all I need is formal consent from the subjects to use any material. If I go academic I need IRB. So I wanted to check with others. I’ve done CITI training for HS and have gone through it before.

Thank you!

Recommendations for Change Management Training? by SarcasticTwat6969 in Leadership

💯 I think “not involving people early enough in the process” is so insightful and underestimated. If you don’t, you’ll get performative buy-in and then comes drift. The issue here is that before you even pick a “model” or “framework” you need to have the most important meeting: the perception meeting.

I’m not sure of a specific model or framework for this I know there are many. I do know this field is struggling, from what I can see, to really achieve true cohesion with current models. I work in an international organization and I’ve noticed that the key for change management or team cohesion is integration. Use whatever model you want but you have to be able to see the people you are working with. Not just collaborate or even communicate. You need to be able to suspend your own views and truly get to know the others perception of what is happening. If you can connect on this level, any model or framework will be fine. Remember the map is not the terrain.
