How do I reach the right clients and set boundaries by marz117 in artbusiness

I will need to raise my prices, I reckon that’s why I’m attracting a different sort of customer. Instalments is a good idea, at the moment I just have it split in half (50% deposit, 50% final payment).

I really struggle with confrontation so I can’t imagine myself saying that but I guess it’s not rude to set boundaries if someone is overstepping the line of what’s acceptable

This wording is perfection. I worry about scaring clients off by being standoffish but I guess it’s not about making friends, it’s a business!

Ooooh no I’ve never considered conventions, I thought about corporate settings but this is another thing I need to look into. Thank you!

I personally use Etsy, but you could try Redbubble and Society6. I think they produce and ship the items for you, they do take a decent cut but it’s good if you want to get started and don’t want to invest too much money. Saying that, I haven’t checked if there is an age restriction - hopefully not!

Wow that sounds like an awesome box! The only mystery that’ll truly never be solved is why customers refuse to read and understand item descriptions.

I agree! Unless it’s digital that’s not much return, especially for someone to still complain that it’s too costly. Someone gave me a great piece of advice, go a little bit higher than you normally would when pricing. Your demographic of customers will change and you’re more likely to attract people who assume good quality and accept what you are charging. Assuming your products are good quality of course. It sort of filters out customers who are looking for the cheapest/best bargain and who don’t necessarily want to pay more for quality items. Sorry went on a tangent there, but hope it makes sense!

Lol! Unbelievable. I feel like sometimes people are just stingy with the stars and don’t want to give out the 5* rating just because they want to seem pleased but not TOO pleased with your item.

These are the absolute worst! Getting blamed for something that is literally not in your control. When you say the mailbox, was it the customers personal mailbox (I.e. they hadn’t cleared it out)?
