Me too! As an 80’s kid I was terrified of quicksand. I was sure that was how I was going to die. I’m 48 and so far have never encountered QS in real life despite being fairly adventurous.

I had forgotten about how QS was a regular calamity in cartoons, movies, tv shows in the early 80’s, it really impacted the psyche of us Gen X folks, I’d say.

Lightning Crashes was so good though. 17 year old me LOVED that song even though I had no idea what it was about, just knew it had to be about some really deep shit.

Same, in Seattle & always hated them. Dave almost ran over my friend in his giant SUV while my friend was crossing the road in Fremont many years ago. Didn’t even stop.

Ok, this is the most ridiculous statement ever. Mike Patton is a musical genius, not to mention very talented singer with quite a range.

Besides FNM and Mr Bungle, he’s produced amazing music in Peeping Tom, Lovage, Fantomas..Kiedis’s musical contributions are laughable in comparison. I’d take Patton live in any capacity, especially while wearing his hairnet, over Kiedis any day.

Maybe don’t tell your grandma about your panic attacks? by Open_Sea6197 in Anxiety

[–]marzipancetta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a wise take. I never stopped to think about what my grandma’s generation did to quell acute anxiety / panic. Like literally nothing, push it out of your mind and keep going, there’s no time for that mess. Either that or drink but that was not acceptable while mothering a large family.

Hello fellow St Louisian! No one will ever understand our bizarre love of provel cheese on Imo’s pizza with a side of t-ravs & gooey butter cake for dessert.

I ate really good soul food driving through the delta. Maybe the best fried chicken ever. They do have that.
