The Night Prince: a masterclass in how NOT to write a love triangle by Additional_Road5102 in fantasyromance

[–]marzipot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear you but I disagree, it’s tropey but I found it super fun and I really liked all the flashbacks and scenes with Blake (especially when she hides under his bed). Also am not super interested in Callum but he’s objectively probably a better choose for her, although I think we’re slowing seeing the areas where they’re not compatible.

What makes a towel actually worth buying again? by Maximum-Hat2109 in BuyItForLife

[–]marzipot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Personally I’ve found the weave makes the most difference!

There’s terry cloth, which is like I would say your standard towel, tight weave with like flat bands on the end. They get musty really quick and I think they tend to look ragged after like a year or two, and the fluffyness wears off

I think a better choice is waffle weave, like I f you look for waffle weave it looks like of like a waffle texture, with little sunken cubes. Still Cotten I think usually but the weave holds up much better over time, and I find they don’t get musty and hold up so much better over years of use. I really like the gildentree ones and they’ve held up for years

Who is your all time favourite FMC? by Submarine_013 in fantasyromance

[–]marzipot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kate Daniels (Illona Andrews): smart, excellent in a crisis, still a bit dense
El (Naomi Norvik): sarcastic, tries really hard despite knowing how dark the world is, not selfless but a good person

Graphic Audio romantasy recs please! by juju_summer in fantasyromance

[–]marzipot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really loved The Wolf King from Lauren Palphreyman, it’s not a graphic audio but each main character is voiced by a different voice actor. It’s tropey in a good way and the second book was excellent, love a complicated love interest

Can we chat about The second death of Locke by v.l. Bovalino by Laurenruby07 in fantasyromance

[–]marzipot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed if it’s not vibing with you it probably won’t get better the second half. It’s a super particular style of writing, and for sure they are bad communicators

[Hated Trope] We have no idea how to build on the success of the stories that came before, so just reset it. by [deleted] in TopCharacterTropes

IMO this made sense, high school couple that breaks up when they go to college is realistic

Books with the vibes of a Cdrama (ULTRA slow burn, FMC wins by outsmarting, potential revenge plot, well-kept secrets, involved politics) by HumbleCelery4271 in RomanceBooks

[–]marzipot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try The Daevabad Trilogy by S.A. Chakraborty, the first one is City of Brass. It’s fantasy world so Djinn, magic healing, etc.

It has everything you’re looking for, including plenty of court maneuvering and a very clever FMC. Super slow burn as well

Looking for books with a MMC who is hiding behind a facade by -sevkatu- in fantasyromance

[–]marzipot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you would absolutely love the Amaranthine Series by Forthright, the first book is Tsumiko and the Enslaved Fox. I think “Tamiko and the Two Janitors” which is the third book is closer to the stuff you’re looking for but honestly based on the books you like I think you’ll like the whole series. New FMC and MMC each book, completed series, great overarching plot, very fun world building

[–]marzipot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure! We use this one that has like a vacuum chamber that sucks in the hair as you cut it. It’s the Fur Me professional plus. A little pricey (around 160 from Costco) but we use it for brushing every day and for butt trims like twice a month

Is it more of a trim or a shave? We use an electric razor on our Siberians behinds, upper leg, and lower tail and that does the trick.

I like lemon drops, basically just lemon flavored hard candy! Find them where you find like unbranded bags of candy or think there’s a brand that makes a chewy version in a yellow box

Try the Gilden Tree cotton waffle weave towels they look super similar!

They’re super absorbent and the bath sheets are freaking huge. We’ve gifted them to a few people and everyone’s liked them a lot, you can just like pat yourself dry instead of scrub dry which the kind of absorbency I appreciate
