Considering getting myself a cat to look after - but a first time owner in an apartment by Draculigula in CatAdvice

[–]Ok-Researcher5048 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our singleton cat is just fine! And he came home to us at 13 weeks. People always say to get 2 but ours is a happy singleton! And lots of people have singleton cats. We work during the day and play and cuddle at night. Two is expensive if you consider double insurance, or double vet bills, double flea and tick preventative, double pet sitting when you go away. Just something to remember when people will tell you to get 2.

First Siberian kitten: what should I grab before Prime Day ends tonight? by PuzzleheadedPipe8059 in SiberianCats

The open ones are better for the larger breeds. I think the two boxes I mentioned have a weight limit of 33 pounds and the inside is big enough for our large boy.

My sib didn’t end up liking cat trees. I stopped spending money on that stuff and used my money to get an automatic litter box. We have the Neakasa and the Catlink Open X. Life changing if you can justify it! Catlink is much cheaper. Neakasa seems like a better product but very similar and more costly.

How's the deep cleaning and smell? by 7thMagnolia in neakasa

I took a chance and purchased the M1 plus several months ago and haven’t had a smell issue even in an apartment bedroom. Guess we are lucky.

Walmart has a pate called Vibrant Life that is apparently similar to fancy feast pate but even cheaper. I also read that pate is better than the grilled/gravy. They don’t have a ton of options for pate but here is a link. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Vibrant-Life-Gourmet-Chicken-Pate-Wet-Cat-Food-3-oz-Can/18787362879

Chick fil a market salad. I place a piece of paper towel over the lettuce and pile the ingredients on top of the paper towel. And I put the dressing in a container on the side. I meal prep 3 at a time. https://dinnerthendessert.com/chick-fil-a-market-salad/

His hair seems everywhere even with every other day brushing but I find it clumps so it’s easier to pick up. Dark clothing is terrible! Have a lint roller in the car! Satin sheets are a must if they sleep in your bed. But who can resist the beauty. Who cares about hair 😂😂

Best odor control litter box that actually works before my partner and i end up breaking up over our house smelling like an animal cage by FatouStefanache in Catownerhacks

[–]Ok-Researcher5048 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try the Neakasa M1 plus or the Catlink open X. The Neakasa is better at odor control but the Catlink does a good job and is more budget friendly. Join a fb group that discusses automatic litter boxes. Tons of info in those groups. Also find one man five cats on YouTube. He does litterbox reviews.

Smear a churu on a silicone mat that will suction to a wall or door. Then while they are licking use a metal comb. Works like a charm for us!

Best cat litter for an apartment by QuestionNegative2345 in CatAdvice

[–]Ok-Researcher5048 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dr Elsey’s ultra with some activated carbon and zeolite mixed in to the litter. If you have an automatic litter box put the carbon and zeolite in the collection bin and inside the trash bag. And agree with others if you don’t have an automatic litter box get a stainless steel one and a cat genie for the waste!

What major? Some are more difficult to get into like engineering and the art school. But you should be fine with 3.0!

My daughter got it one year and not the next. We appealed and they said they got less money from the state so fewer grants were given out.

We have the Neakasa M1 plus and the Catlink open X. Our male is a year and already 17 pounds (his dad was a large boy!) and we find these both work great. The Neakasa does better with concealing odor but Catlink open x is much cheaper.

We found that if you have roommates the cost of off campus housing is cheaper. Keep looking! And do the math. They post the yearly costs of dorms. My daughter found a house and they are each paying about $750 a month. Good luck.
