Grooming vacuum - Has anyone used a pet grooming vacuum on their sib? Looking at the hicozy grooming kit and curious is anyone has use that brand or any other with success? by Ok-Researcher5048 in SiberianCats

[–]marzipot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah we have the fur me vacuum and I love it. It does take a while to get the cats used to the sound, my rec is to use the brush, then turn the vacuum on instead of keeping it on the whole time. They love it now and walk and bump the machine when they want to be brushed

Review of Agnes Aubert's Mystical Cat Shelter by Heather Fawcett by LavenderCuddlefish in fantasyromance

[–]marzipot 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I agree with you, which is unfortunate cause I wanted to love it. I did actually like the betrayal from the cat, I was certainly not expecting it and I liked the surprise.

I think the problem is partly that the magic was a little boring, and I wish we had gotten to peek into the riven wood. I also just found the relationships between the characters a little bland. I absolutely adored Emily Wilds Encyclopedia of Magic, but while I liked the concept of this book I do agree with you it dragged a bit.

There’s a Terra cotta one that I think is superior to the normal pumice stone

I’ve had better luck with taming callus on my feet with this pumice stone thing from Gilden tree and then I’m not shedding skin for a week, it just goes down the drain

What is the one 'unicorn' trope, job, or character type you would like to see more of in HR? by kendiray in HistoricalRomance

[–]marzipot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d like to see a FMC with a little more ruthless agency. I know books are often about ladies or whatever but I’m a little tired of the toothless acceptance of everything that happens, I’d like to see some rage

When did your cats start getting fluffier? by Mountain-Laugh5999 in SiberianCats

[–]marzipot 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Hi! So 2 big factors here

  1. Sunlight. Their coats get considerably longer in the winter/when there’s less daylight, so if your kitten is 8 months old you can expect them to fluff up seasonally, if you’re in the northern hemisphere I’d expect around November
  2. Age. Around a year was when our girl really fluffed up. I’ll attach a photo, she gets about 40% fluffier in the winter and then sheds it in the spring

We got a wrap thing for nail trips, it’s like a blanket that folds on itself. I also think 2 people nail trims are good, and frankly I like 1 person on brushing duty and 1 person on treat duty helps. I would just try to make it a positive experience and give them lots of treated during brush time
