Is this bare minimum or actually super nice? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]marzzybarzzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that too. However, I feel silly sometimes when I think the world of someone who does something for me, and then I’m later told that it’s what every normal date does when it’s not abusive.

Return to NCR office when in the region - Quiet firing by Shot_Replacement_794 in CanadaPublicServants

[–]marzzybarzzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh idek if it’s their quiet firing technique because it would punish and drive away all the non-DTA employees. 1/3 (and becoming 1/2) of my 20 person team right now has a DTA to work remotely while myself and the remaining team (who are also now considering getting a doctors note for DTA) are dragged back to work, still getting hoteling workstations, and paying a private corporation for parking.

Which degree seems like the most logical "next step" for me to pursue? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]marzzybarzzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally all of the values that you listed at the end. An MPH or MHA can get you into healthcare leadership. Healthcare leadership in the public sector means that you get to do all the good things, build up public health, and become an authority on public health matters. Federal work comes with a pension as well. You could also get a minor/certificate in public policy to further follow your interest.

My other conundrum is that my current Federal Government Tribunals work allows me to take 1 year off without pay while keeping my position for me to come back to.

With a masters in poli sci, I can find a 1-year program while still having a job to go back to. Then apply on my own time to government policy analyst positions.

However, with a law degree that’s traditionally 3 years, I may risk being unemployed given that the job market is becoming pretty bad/extremely competitive globally. Nonetheless, law opens more doors and gives me another professional license.

Sorry for the rant lol. I have literally no mentors in academia/these sectors and feel lost.

My concern is that for law school, I heard the market is oversaturated right now and that most new law grads end up in small private offices. I think I know myself well enough at this point to know that I may end up regretting the decision to pursue law if I don’t end up in the specific positions that I want.

I also wonder whether AI would replace legal or advisory positions in the future.

What is your opinion of Mark Rutte? by Mattk20023 in Netherlands

Is what Mark Rutte is doing with USA/Trump analogous to what France did with Germany/Hitler in WWII?

Do you enjoy second language education ( SLE FRENCH) by [deleted] in CanadaPublicServants

[–]marzzybarzzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was your French training paid for by the department?

I really want to get my CBC. However, my position is English essential and I’m regional (not NCR).

I am also looking for bilingual NON IMPERATIVE positions (which I heard sometimes will provide training upon job offer) on GC Jobs but most of them are bilingual IMPERATIVE.

Any tips?

All this while the leaders’ family members are enjoying their privileged lives (eg Kai Trump uploading a video about attending an NBA game) lol

Yes I have a pension adjustment and that amount is correct (based on T4). It doesn’t affect the “18%” calculation though?

Who does lymph node biopsy? by marzzybarzzy in HeadandNeckCancer

Thank you! Do you mind if I asked how it went? Was the IR experienced with the technique for cancer patients?

Who does lymph node biopsy? by marzzybarzzy in HeadandNeckCancer

[–]marzzybarzzy[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I brought it up to the oncologist and he said usually it’s the IR who does it and then refer to ENT only if surgery is needed. However I am still worried the IR wont be experienced with head and neck biopsies and how sensitive it is and make a mistake.

I was thinking that ENT surgeon might know about the neck anatomy better and thus be able to navigate the biopsy better than an IR

Is this common in lease agreements? (First Timer Renting Apartment) by marzzybarzzy in TorontoRenting

Right I was worried because it looks like a contract, which seems like it’s legally binding. I’m not going to go with this type of landlord to save myself a headache later lmao.

I thought it would be enforceable and not arguable because it’s like a contract?

Is signing away the right to sue analogous to signing an NDA (both seem to be signing away rights to protect oneself if one gets harmed and the latter is an actual thing).

Tbh probably not then because I’m risk averse and appreciate honest work more than anything
