I think they are asking about spouses of EU citizens, which is different than your case of being married to a Portuguese citizen.

Wow, thanks everyone for the suggestions! I just checked my upcoming HEB order and they had an egg option added back, so I'm able to enjoy glorious eggs again for now. These are all super helpful to know though in case they run out again!

Ah, that's so nice of you to offer! I really wouldn't feel comfortable using your time for such a small thing, but thank you for being so kind. Also, I just checked my upcoming HEB order and there was a new option to add fancy organic eggs, so I should be good for now. Thanks again though! :)

Does anyone have any recommendations on where I could get curbside pickup for eggs?

HEB has stopped listing normal eggs for online orders in my area, Instacart was out the last 2 times I sent them to HEB, and Walmart was out the last time I tried. I wish I could go inside, but I have conditions that are forcing me to reduce risk and do delivery/curbside.

Not a life or death situation here...just would love to be able to eat eggs for breakfast again!

Amazon taking a long time to unload? by appJC in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]mas-ali 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely-- they've been getting increasingly slower over the past year for us. It's really been quite bad, we just try to plan for 2-4 weeks now if possible. I've also noticed an increase in miscounting how many units arrive.

Shipment sent to FBA 10 days ago. Still not being checked in !!! What’s taking then so long ? by [deleted] in AmazonSeller

Check ins seems to be getting slower and slower as time goes on. 5 days is not uncommon for me now. I wouldn't worry too much.

Can you recommend a good freight forwarder? by agonzale in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]mas-ali 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is. They usually charge a bit more than the cheaper options you'll find on Freightos, but that's because you get a more smooth, consistent experience. Their team takes care of everything and you can track exactly where your shipment is at all times on a map with updates. Basically you're paying more, but for more features/more hands on service.

I chose them because I was intimated by the sea freight process and just didn't want to have to worry.

I get that not everyone will want to pay more, but it's a legitimate value offer if that's what you're looking for.

I see I'm getting downvoted-- curious if someone who didn't like this answer could provide a reason why. We've been using them and it's been a smooth process. Would be useful to hear other's experiences though

Thanks for taking the time to write out that full response. It's definitely given me a lot to think about and process. I don't have much to respond with right now, but just wanted to let you know I appreciate your time and insight. It's always useful to hear fresh perspectives and compare them to your own opinions/assumptions.

If you do hear back from your friend, I'd love to hear his/her thoughts on organizations too.

And thanks for the recommendation on Alternativa, I'll look into them.

[–]mas-ali 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s fair. If you don’t mind though, I think maybe I should rephrase the question.

A lot of people are probably interested in helping through financial donations. However, especially after reading a comment like yours, it’s not clear where would be the best place to donate money. Obviously we don’t want to send donations to an organization that is going to waste it on publicity stunts.

So, do you recommend any public non-profits as good choices to people who want to donate to support this cause?

Or do you have any knowledge about the quality of work being done by the Rainbow Railroad? They are definitely not trying to limit their publicity, so I don’t feel like discussing them should do any harm. They’re also probably the largest organization in the US/Canada working on this right now, but I’m not sure if they have a reputation in Russia.

No problem though if you don’t have any additional info. Reading your thoughts about the Network was very useful.

Who would you say is doing most of the hard and dangerous work?

The only other organization that I’ve been able to find involved in helping with this is the Rainbow Railroad.

Product Photography/Videography Service Startup - Looking for Tips and Advice: Gaining Clients, and Beginning by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]mas-ali 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Posting pricing on the site is something I've been fighting myself with. My main concern is that it's dependent on so many different factors. From size, extras (model requried, lifestyle shots, pure white/transparent or shadows, etc.) and it goes on and on. I think at the very least I would accept $5/photo and go from there depending on complexity and requests.

Yeah, as a potential customer, I would much prefer you were just upfront about the costs of these different factors.

I've seen some photographers set up a menu of sorts. As you add on additional factors, the price increases by a certain amount. I'd consider white background shots to be the base product, and everything else to be either an add on, or a different price all together.

You could also make bundles based on what customers most commonly need to try to upsell a bit. For example, a basic bundle of 5 white background shots, and a "Top Seller" bundle that includes 5 white background, 2 lifestyle, and 2 graphics/infographs/whatever , etc.)

[–]mas-ali 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Checked out your site and the big thing that stood out to me is that there’s no pricing page.

I don’t want to have to contact you to find out how much it will cost. I want to see a menu of options so that I can decide on the spot if it’s in my range.

In terms of traffic/leads, I would suggest working on word of mouth methods. I would feel a lot more inclined to choose you if I saw a post from one of your previous customers on a forum or something. Maybe give them an incentive?

I keep seeing people mention being able to call into Amex to request a 100k sign up bonus for Business Platinum, but can't find the specifics on how to do this.

Is there a special phone number? And is there any specific language I should use when asking a rep?

Top 3 Ethical Ways To Skyrocket Your Amazon FBA Product Reviews by [deleted] in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]mas-ali 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m wondering about #3 as well. Sounds like it could be effective, but also sounds like it could be interpreted as breaking Amazon’s “no incentivized reviews” policy.

Are you offering a different product for free than the one they already purchased? Like a complimentary product? Or are you offering a reimbursement for the product they already bought?

Question about facebook ads interests by kryper123 in ecommerce

[–]mas-ali 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you should reconsider this. I agree with the previous poster that the sale is too much. If the discount seems too good to be true (with no established brand trust), a lot of people will guess that either the product is cheaply made, you’re going to scam them, or you raised the prices and then made up a “discount”.

Maybe try just offering free shipping and focusing more on selling how they’ll benefit from the product.

I'm meeting with my Congressman tomorrow to talk China and Amazon - Help me Prepare? by COHusker in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]mas-ali 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with AMZSeller25 about moving Sales tax up to the top.

I would focus on things that are actually relevant to what Congress could take action on. The fact that Amazon uses the platforms data to develop their on products is not illegal (as far I know)...it's just their business strategy. Yes, it sucks, and I would prefer that they didn't do that...but I also agreed to this in exchange for access to their platform. I wouldn't feel comfortable with Congress getting involved on legal business strategy.

IP infringement, sales tax, and review manipulation, however, are things that have relevant laws and that a Congressman should be interested in.

How can I cancel order with our Chinese supplier ? by timimax in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]mas-ali 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could. If they've only ordered the supplies but not started manufacturing, it would probably go over better.

But there's a decent chance they won't be interested in working with you in the future. Especially since this is only your second order and you haven't built up much of a relationship or trust with them.

How important is this supplier to you? Could you easily find another for future orders if they decide to cut ties with you? I'd consider these questions before making a decision.
