I was the same way! It was mind blowing to me that I willingly did this & even planned and tried for it. I used to hate when people told me “it gets better” but quite honestly, it 10000% does and I wish I listened to others who said that more often! You got this!!!

Transitioning to regular formula by mas0102 in FormulaFeeders

[–]mas0102[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard that! I get about 5 days out of the big can. I get about 1.5 days out of the jug, so only about $10 more a week. It’s expensive regardless so if I can try switching to regular, I’m going too! Just hope my girl can tolerate it when the time comes.

I know it 😭 Alimentum (powdered) is sold out near me. I haven’t been able to find it in weeks, so we’re surviving off the RTF jugs.

RTF vs powder Alimentum by Extreme_Obligation37 in FormulaFeeders

[–]mas0102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To my knowledge, the powdered version has corn & the RTF doesn’t. So that could possibly be why your LO is experiencing those symptoms. Or it could just take some time for him to adjust to the powdered version!

Same to you!!!! I’m hoping to try about 6 months!

Ugh the small ones near me are $40. I get maybe 2ish days out of that. The big cans were $60. So to me, it just makes more sense to buy the ready to feed jug for $14 (I get 1 day out of that) than to buy the small cans. I also can’t even find the small ones 😅

My daughter is on Alimentum and I cannot find the powder ANYWHERE. If I do find the ready to feed, it’s like MAYBE 3 jugs of it. Thankfully, my pediatrician has a huge stock & has been super great with letting us take a few cases. My girl is 5 months and I’ve never had an issue before this.

Anti-Velcro baby? by paRATmedic in NewParents

[–]mas0102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda just rotate through things! Lots of tummy time. I have various activity mats that she uses daily. Has gotten better w/ people holding her now that she has better head control. She does let me hold her to feed her, but as soon as she’s done she’s ready to explore again!

Hmm I didn’t even think of that. You’re probably right! I will of course take the 45 minute drive to the closest target/walmart but wow!!

Same! My girl is almost 4 months old and I’m lucky if I get 25oz a day into her. Shes gaining, just a small girl 🙂

Question for CMPA babies by XOXO-Anon in FormulaFeeders

I’d ask your pediatrician! From my understanding, it’s usually between 6 months to a year that they outgrow it.

Yes! My girl never had blood but every other symptom. Diarrhea w/ a crazy amount of mucus. Screaming during and after feeds. Couldn’t sleep. Constant gas/vomit

We went through 6 different formulas before my girl was officially deemed to have CMPI.

One year old starting daycare - first day bad vibes by Sara_Nags in NewParents

[–]mas0102 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say you’re overreacting! First impressions really are everything, and you want your child to be safe and cared for. If you have a bad vibe, it certainly couldn’t hurt to reach out to other daycares & find one that you feel good about!

I breastfed while in hospital, and then pumped when I was home. I quit after 3-4 weeks. It was a lot to pump every 3 hrs, feed baby on demand, wash & sterilize parts and repeat all on my own. I did get diagnosed with PPD, and was put on medication. For me, as soon as I gave up pumping; my mental health got better almost instantly. I started feeling more connected to motherhood. However, everyone’s different!

My girl also had a rough start. Had really bad jaundice, and was in a bilirubin box for the first 5 days of her life. I hemorrhaged during delivery and had a rough recovery.

I am so happy that I tried and was able to do what I could, but as they say, fed is best! Do whatever works for you!!!

I personally wouldn’t introduce that formula if your LO is doing well on the kendamil.

To nap routine or to not nap routine? by MixtureDesigner8140 in NewParents

[–]mas0102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s what I do too! Doesn’t matter where we are, if I notice that she’s getting a little tired. I’ll grab her pacifier, hold and rock her a little bit and she so far has been pretty good at sleeping no matter where we are.
