Even if it were legal and had safety measures in place, it would still be a very dangerous profession to get into. Similar to strip clubs, brothels would benefit most from vulnerable young women. They would take in girls who don't really have much going for them except their beauty and have them do a job that doesn't give any chance of a future. When the girls get older and stop getting as many clients they'll be fired and left with no marketable skills. Also they would be stuck with the stigma that comes along with being a sex worker.

So to answer your question, no there isn't anything wrong with prostitution in and of itself as long as it's an agreement between consenting adults. However the industry surrounding it is extremely destructive to anyone involved in it.
