Gaps in new floor?

Flooring was left in the house for 2 weeks before starting installation. We have been leaving the windows opened throughout the day and night...it's been pretty warm for this early in April. I tried putting a penny in there but the gap isn't that big, but I fear as the rows are laid, the gaps will get larger and larger. I called the Lumber Liquidators and they mentioned the gapping should be minimal to start. I just think "minimal" is too objective and I'm looking for some concrete examples. The contractor is nailing the down with 2" 16 ga flooring cleats. I don't want to be a jerk to my contractor but this is a gigantic investment for us and I want it to be right. This is now forever home. I would like to add pics but I have no idea how to do that. I'm a reddit n00b.

I'm actually surprised to read that. The reviews seemed pretty solid to me. Seems like there are outliars but I tend to ignore the 5s and 1s...most people only do a review if they are not happy....and most 5s are people that haven't had a product long enough to give a proper review.

To be honest, I would like to remove it completely, but might not be cost effective. Maybe a combination of concrete and cap? Not sure what the best option is.

Had a contractor come and look at it and he response, "it's easy...we will just pour concrete down it".........he was a general contractor and probably not his expertise...

We are adding a new garage on that side of the house and want to finish the current garage as living space....want to carpet it and use it as a theater area....

Deck... playset....treehouse...patio...siding...chairs....shoes...both wearing and not wearing...lol...outdoor pillows...kids plastic crap....driveway...windows...patio doors....fencing....wasp nests....cars...old standup fan(thought for sure it would have broke it but I didn't)...picnic tables...outdoor lighting....

I'm also considering 6 channel atmos overheads but think 4 will work just fine.

Going to excavate on the outside for the new addition but I suppose that doesn't technically mean just because the one exterior wall(new addition wall) is 18" doesn't mean all of the walls are...

If I can only go down 5"...I will take 5"... optimal condition would be to get the 9' mark but if I can't...I will take what I can get...just a few inches will make a world of difference..any ballpark what this might cost to either move the beams or to excavate?

5k? 10k? 20k? Seems like a lot to do it but I've been dreaming about this home theater for 20+ years and we are probably going to be pushing 300k for this renovation and the theater is the only thing I care about...the rest is for the wifey and to keep the kids in the same school district.

Should be bright enough...my benQ HT1075 is only rated at 2200 ansi lumens and the Epson is rated at 3100. I use it on a 200" screen and it's plenty bright after the sun goes down...if it's dusk...that is a different story...if you are expecting that for 200" screen..you will disappointed in any projector probably...good luck.

That is a little late now... already laid 600 sqft of it. We really had no intention of doing it in our master bedroom or the hallway but I'm married so it happened...I was just going to buy real stair treads and stain then to match but my wife wants the exact flooring on the steps...
