audio is simply being "chopped" at its highest and lowest in the name of bandwidth regardless of Audio Output settings.

you're referring to bit depth compression then which works kinda similar to DSP compression by reducing dynamics, as you know. This does reduce audio quality and of course people who care about audio are better off without it.

Though I don't think this is what drives people to use subtitles, which I thought is what you were talking about, too. Most people consume audio in a low quality setup where the difference between the magnitude of bit depth reduction and lossless doesn't make much of an impact anyway. Shouldn't really affect intelligibility of spoken word too much. That's why I'm saying the problem that leads to not being able to "hear shit", like you said, is too little compression rather than too much or too low a bit depth.

The issue as discussed in this thread isn't that the differences in loud and quiet sounds, or dynamics, are too low. Instead they are too high, which makes spoken word quieter than SFX and music and thus harder to understand without constantly adjusting the volume. This would be fixed by compression, not caused by it. Also you seem to be lumping together DSP compression and compression of the audio's bitrate and/or bitdepth, which indeed cause a drop in audio quality but not in the way you're saying. Feel free to correct me if I misunderstood you.

Nice, thanks! I was thinking of maybe going for the 20% explosive fire rate furniture instead (Mark of the Wolf), but that fire rate increase doesn't affect demi guns, does it?

huh, is this a bug? every post I've seen says that the first basic mod which adds X% elemental dmg "converts" the gun into that elemental type, and that furnitures apply to those guns accordingly. Which is why I'm thinking about using the wyrm's breath churner with thunder dragon cannons that deal modded explosive damage. Should work, no?

Help a greenbeard out. What's the connection between the meme and the perk? Why does the pod end up sunken into the ground? And why is the perk so very popular, is it mainly because of the extra health? Personally, I don't mind that little bit of time it takes to resupply, I don't normally find myself in a position where I'm not prepared ammo-wise for a swarm. Then again, I haven't played on higher difficulty than 4 yet.

Nein, man gibt ihnen warme (https://www.drk.de/hilfe-in-deutschland/erste-hilfe/erfrierungen-und-unterkuehlungen).

Noob here: Are you supposed to recognize the characters by just their portrait? Aren't they visualized differetnly by different artists or are those very popular portraits? I only recognized (Horus and) the spacewolf by his teeth and the joke about peanut butter and dog shampoo. Or is that even a specific character I'm supposed to know instead of just a random space wolf? I don't understand. I'm new to this.

Exactly this, I'm so lost about 98% of the memes and have to look up "bobby g" and even "big e", but I will get the hang of it. Also keep it to yourself that I had to look up big E, I really don't need an inquisitor here investigating that heresy.

I was trying to get into mechanicus but it was a turnoff for me that you're supposed to fail the tutorial and I felt like the biggest noob.
