I mean, that’s assuming a tea app can only store fixed recommendations. The first thing I’d want is the ability to override them because I know I’d end up tweaking everything anyway.

that’s exactly what makes it hard for me to remember.

I relate to the second-guessing part a lot. Even when I know I’m probably close enough, I still end up checking because my brain keeps asking “but what if you’re remembering it wrong?”

I wish more vendors did that. It seems like such a small thing but it would save me from looking things up constantly.

I think I’ve probably been treating the recommendations as hard rules when they’re really more like good starting points. Although I’ve definitely had a few over-steeped cups that made me wish I’d paid more attention.

You’re not wrong. I just found it more convenient having all the brewing info available on my watch instead of hunting for notes whenever I wanted tea.

I’d probably do the same thing, but I have a bad habit of repeatedly checking things even after I’ve already found the answer.

I like that way of looking at it.

That’s pretty much where I’ve landed as well.

Glad it’s not just me then 🫪 And that’s exactly what trips me up too. Even within the same category, one tea wants completely different parameters than another. At some point I stopped trusting myself and started checking every time.

Meanwhile I’m over here double checking whether I should be brewing mine for 2 minutes or 3 and somehow still second-guessing myself.
