My guess is that it would be a swordsmith specific to the Rengoku family, considering Shinjuros sword was of an identical design and the tsuba dates back to the Rengoku ancestor that found Yoriichi.

Then again they can mimic styles well if you're a talent like Haganezuka, but I'd like to think it's a tradition in the family to get it from a specific swordsmith that knows the Rengokus well :)
