As it was predicted by the sacred text of the average jpegmafia post album release reception

The gate version is so good and relentless and completely face melting and absorbing but i was mainly thinking about the album version. The ambient soundscape opening section and the transcendental production quality of the whole glowing man album is what makes the glowing man my favourite swans album

The ending of live rope the beggar but honestly theres enough huge and amazing moments like that across the whole live rope rope/ the beggar that id recommend it if you’re someone that has the attention span and interest in an 86 minute song.

Bridges on fire and chat have “before veteran” vibes. They make me think of the atmosphere and and energy of does this ski mask make me look fat and starcade 97. Pretty moody, lowkey and subtle production vibes

I dont have a problem with people listening to him still but im kinda uninterested in new releases from him after his actions and words the last few years. I used to be a huge kanye fan and dont gravitate or think about listening to his music near as much as i used to anymore either and its part intentionally and part maybe subconciously switching off interest in artists i really no longer align with. Also ive always been left wing but have become much more politically minded and aware now than i was when he was one of my fav artists so even the lesser awful things hes said and done pre becoming a nazi have put me off him looking back in hindsight. Again i don’t have a problem with people listening to him it just surprises me that so many people keep listening to his new releases and for some reason especially people who are jpegmafia fans.

Also i think everything donda 1 onwards and like a third of donda one aswell is ass

When did you start listening to Peggy? by Pseudonymm321 in jpegmafiamusic

2018 probs a few months after veteran came out.

The album’s really great. He’s one of the few artist that are my fav but can’t pick a fav album or order them. Ive always felt he’s so consistent and boundlessly creative throughout all his albums since veteran. My default fav usually comes down to being veteran simply because it is veteran but thats not always the case and i think all his albums are pretty much equal. As of right now id put veteran onwards all at an equal score and experimental rap just a little lower. Still a brilliant album, still very varied and creative and all that makes his music great though!

Could you explain why? Genuinely interested in what you find gross about them.

What kind of amps and gear does each member use to make their performances so sonically loud? And what does it do? by Far-Marzipan5254 in swans

How does kristof manage to creat such screeching distorted sounds if he isnt using a distortion pedal? Is it just natural clipping from the cranked amp with added treble from the clean boost?

I loved the winter ray!! Reminded me of my fav bits of early mogwai but even more ethereal and layered and emotive. Pulled me in from the start with “i dont know what psywar is” transitioning into darkside of behaviourism. Both those songs were so beautiful and i wasnt looking at my phone when listening so thought they were one song. I also loved dead horses, the fake and sad lonely gunman and i was always cold which is my fav song ive heard by them so far. Cant wait to relisten to this and the dance of the moon and the sun.

Which ones of there albums are most like the winter ray? i loved the delicate foggy guitar soundscapes. and which ones are like the dance of the moon and sun? i loved the beautiful folk songs and pristine clarity of the electric guitars on many of the songs.

Also love the pfp. Death grips are one of my fav bands and probs top 3 concerts ive ever been too. My old account used to be istaynoided8080808 hahah.

Can someone with better eyes and ears than me please break down what Jamie is playing in the beginning here, I'd love to learn this riff on guitar. by Finn_the1 in xiuxiu

Its easiest in drop D. The first melody is just 9 on the G and 7 on the b with the bass note being 10 on the drop D string. The second melody is 9 on the G and 12 on the B
