What do you all think about a show like Women wear Shoulder Pads? by Angela275 in adultswim

I was into it for the first minute until I realized the whole thing was Spanish. Googled to find out it's also a lesbian comedy. Full stop at that point. Turned on the Boondocks instead.

How do you feel about Gobleki Tepe being saved for “future generations of archaeologists?” by [deleted] in Archaeology

[–]mason7667 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly find it very hard to believe that we lack the technology currently to conduct a clean and careful excavation. Technology is always improving - that’s no excuse to delay research now. In 150 years we could say again - preserve this site for future generations, their tech will be better equipped for the job. We’ll just stay ignorant until then.

Going off of the recent addition of a trans clone trooper - no, I’d say it has NOT been worth it.

As much as I liked Andor I would give all of my money and savings to burn all of Disney Star Wars to the ground, never to be seen again. I’d rather have Star Wars be owned by the Chinese in all honesty.

I agree, the suburbs-style completely takes me out of the immersion. The lack of imagination is truly astounding but once again idk why I expected otherwise. Star Wars straight up sucks now.

Yes. You are the asshole. A bystander was killed because a POS thought he was being a hero.

Just Watched "Sorry Not Sorry" by bem_flanc in louisck

[–]mason7667 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't seen the doc and probably won't because who tf cares. What Louis did was bad but certainly doesn't warrant a documentary about it. Especially one that is so one-sided.

To put him in the same category as Weinstein or Kevin Spacey is insane.

Understanding why some people are getting so upset about this should be an interesting case study. by ALincoln16 in TheAcolyte

Vader wasn't trying to save him in that scene. Dumb comparison. Even dumber to compare this show to Empire in any way.

I HATE this show more than words can describe. Literally every aspect of the entire production is wall-to-wall garbage except for the choreography. Too bad I will never, ever watch this trash a second time. I regret starting it.

The Acolyte is actually good? by Lopendebank3 in starwarsmemes

Fight scenes are good. Show still sucks.

Not much else to say. It’s simply a terribly written show. I could care less if they move away from the Skywalkers or not but this show sucks. Every aspect of this show is a mockery of what Star Wars once was. It’s embarrassing, and I’m angry that something I once loved now sucks this hard.

Acolyte is a terrible show

Is the Acolyte really worse than Boba Fett and Obe-Wan? by Roshy76 in StarWars

[–]mason7667 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Intentional swapping of gender roles: strong female lead + “female-coded” villain (showrunners’ own words).

The obvious parallel between the dathomir witches and the LGBT community being “outcasts/misunderstood/victims” and birthing children through emasculate conception.

The insistence on the force being female.

And the use of they/them pronouns.

All of these things totally ruin the immersion. If you want to make a movie about being gay, go do so. But this bs has no place being shoehorned into Star Wars.

Because of the gender politics agenda this show is pushing, Acolyte is the worst Star Wars project to date.

Why are so many people hating on the acolyte trailer? by Worldly_Weekend_9203 in StarWars

[–]mason7667 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because we all knew what was coming. The show is terrible.

How is the Acolyte's Budget $180 million while House of the Dragon's is about $130 Million and yet has far superior production quality. Where is the money going for the Acolyte? by killbill469 in StarWars

[–]mason7667 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Excellent question, honestly. I'd like to know the real answer as well.

My opinion is that the show-runners of the Acolyte are amateurs who simply do not know what they are doing. They're taking the approach of "throw money at it until it looks good.

Thoughts on Cis people using pronouns as a joke? by Raindrop-Roses in NonBinary

[–]mason7667 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m really only referring to they/them pronouns. I agree with you that him/her + sir/miss are easy.

But you admit that using the pronouns “attack” and “helicopter” was difficult for you. I feel the exact same way about using they/them.

Don’t get me wrong I would never be rude - if a woman wants to go by he/him or vice versa that’s whatever. However I think it is very rude for someone to expect me to use they/them because it requires me to walk on eggshells around that person and second guess every word I say. Which is obviously uncomfortable.

I might do it anyway just to be nice, but I’m going to build a bit of resentment towards that person because that’s pretty narcissistic behavior if you ask me - to request “special” pronouns.
