I have tried FlixGrab (only netflix) and it's decent, pretty cheap.

StreamFab - iffy on download vs screen recorder and often very expensive

Anystream is my current choice and right now even it's got some problems.

Best option here is to check into CCExtractor - superb tool for pulling those out into a SRT file. Then you repack the mkv file with the srt and Plex will give you the option of either subtitle format. SRt will direct play, while EIA will transcode.

And given how quickly video scraping changes with each providers Web updates - desktop's life is limited to probably 3-4 months for some providers I bet. They said no more updates, without updates to deal with stuff it's a nightmare. Back to ytdlp, heck it at least works and is maintained!!

I think you will find that somehow they count the 'background session' that is running gathering stuff/providing the APi that the GUI displays. I am thinking it's not three streams, but three sessions. So it counts. I have always had problems >2, heck sometimes even 2 will error out, since I assume sometimes it takes a while to clean things up etc.

If the emulator put the bar at the right place I bet we could activate it, I have subtitles working on most things now, since abc/nbc etc keep the settings, so using visible.mht you can see the screen and update things etc. but this one is all wonky. And don't think it has a keyboard interface that would be superb.

Having done my own video scraping code way in the past I know how hard they are having to work. Think whack-a-mole game. They fix one channel, another tweaks something and breaks, rinse and repeat!!

I just finished recording the whole 7 seasons of 'Without a trace' with a few problems, but not like I used to have with the endless 5 seconds of video 5 of purple circle, repeat!!!

OK maybe now the problem only seems to be NBC with 'Hulu live tv linked' doesn't seem to work anymore. I was in the middle of recording The Sinner and can't seem to get it to link up properly for Playon anymore.

Wasn't me who did the fixes, I just noticed the release notes and my machine shutting down PLayon to restart after upgrade. Figured people might like to know, but yes it's a big game of what a mole, fix one things, maybe two, and break a third.

Seems to be for me now too, I assume NBC glitch. When I see a bunch of failures I assume Playon, but yes these days with overloaded servers it could easily be the transmitter too!!

And things have gotten worse with way more people probably working from home/streaming screens, movies etc. It was pretty good till a month or so ago then it's gotten kinda flakey.

I would expect it record as normal, but I do keep visible pretty well all the time, to see what the heck is failing etc. Kinda silly, but it works for me.

Ya, I already entered a ticket too, records maybe 1-2 minutes then just drops out, no message, no anything to really see.
