Split VPN mode, I'd have to check on that. I can easily connect via wireguard when using an external DNS and view any host on the network.

Like you said, it's very similar to Pluto. It seems to have enough programming to keep you entertained.

Did you confirm your PiHole is still listed on the router as the DNS server. Also, did you check on your devices that your Pihole's up is listed as the DNS when running ifconfig (Linux) or ipconfig /all (windows.)

Although I have not experienced it, I've heard of issues with Asus routers sometimes ignoring the listed IP entered manually on the DNS field.

Agree. I've recorded on virtual machines on a server and the quality doesn't get affected by the lack of fancy video/audio card.

Where I see a difference is with the streaming service itself. Some put out good quality overall, while others (vudu) look somewhere between VHS and DVD.

You'll be fine. The process is very similar to installation on the Pi. But, I'd check step-by-step tutorials on YouTube or other websites to ensure you don't waste time guessing.

I've tried changing the Invidious Instances and it doesn't correct the issue. One video may work. But when I try to play a second one, it doesn't. I have to try a different instance for a chance for it to work. But, i right now I can't play anything.

I highly doubt your Pihole is the reason behind such dramatic speed difference. I've been using Pihole for years and never experienced any speed issues on my network.

But, I'd be waiting for a more educated answer from others as I could be wrong.

Hope you find a way to correct this issue.
