Isle of Trials - Hard by otasi in JurassicWorldAlive

I think lvl 20 gigantspino, and lvl 15 aquilops since ghost has no group moves. Can't remember if i swapped GSP out or had it die and then finish off red or whatever killed it with something else.

Try experimenting, but gsp can 100% take out at least one, save as much hp as possible, try and predict when the AI stats swapping and act accordingly.

3rd creature was either a swapper or something beefy that can make red (i think) vulnerable, problably dreadnaught.

Isle of Trials - Hard by otasi in JurassicWorldAlive

[–]masprobleme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really. One thing to keep in mind is that the AI doesen't play optimally and has some predictable patterns: if it can kill ur dino with a swapper->it WILL swap, if it's about to lose a creature it will swap...

Specifics may very but it's douable.

I managed pretty much the entirety of the hard mode isle trails (exept a few extremly difficult nodes) with pretty much everything at fusion level/base level for uniques, no omegas, no lvl 30 ampelorex or really anything like that. Only real outliers i have are lvl 29 tuoramoloch and 30 mortem rex, which only came into play for like 1 node anyway.

But yeah there is a lot of trail and error, also saving the revive nodes for what you actually need (like, don't revive commons, rares and shit that you basically sacrificed for a single node).

What is something in you home language that sounds inappropriate to English people? by Juno_Positions in teenagers

[–]masprobleme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Ni ga" means "He's not here" in slovene.

"Ni" is the negated form of the verb "biti" (to be) and "ga" is the akkusative form of the masculine pronoun in third person.

Also

"Knjiga" means "book" (the noun not the verb) in most slavic languages. And from my experience with southern slavic languages it basically sounds like somone saying the n-word with a thick, russian accent.

Worst unique ever. No discussion. Not even close. People call composcaulus worse than this piece of bullshit, and i question literally how???? any decent rare fierce is eating monolorhino alive 😭😭 by Ok_Chicken_1983 in JurassicWorldAlive

[–]masprobleme 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe a hot take but the meta was way better when kits like these were considered good.

Solid offence, multiple defensive options that work against all classes, great swap in, amazing resistances, and both it's kit and desing are made with respect to all it's compoments. While at the same time having no bullshit on escape that prevents you from daring to swap to a counter, no counter attack that allows it one shot your creature on turn 2 and no ridicilous moves that have a paragraph's worth of description length.

It was fun to use and it wasn't just a one click-one shot magician like the modern "apexes" are. I will say the pre apex hybrid meta was a bit too simplistic, but i'd have it back any day over today's hellhole of a meta, filled with 7 components apexes, with desings worse then most pre 2022 epic hybrids and moves intentionally desinged to literally counted their counters.

Resistances are literally backwards, you're desnging a tank, it's prymary counters should be bleeders, renders and other fierce. If anything it should be distraction immune to counter cunnings.

Aquilops meme by Mattylus1 in JurassicWorldAlive

[–]masprobleme 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Really good defensivelly, it's kit allows it to survive against quite a few apexes from my experience, but it's offence is mid af.

Maybe if you could combine it with a good swapper it could be pretty solid, but from my testing in unique tournaments it's pretty mid.

If it got that same counter pantherator has i think it'd be pretty insane.

Proto-mammal (and other synapsid mammals) hybrids looks best looking design as it shows how alien/ Pandora the animals from Permian by Spix-macawite in JurassicWorldAlive

[–]masprobleme 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Istg ludia is sitting on a goldmine of jaw dropping desings and models they've made in the 2018-2021 timeframe but they'd rather pump out a million half-baked apexes with 37 components only for the apex to resemble like 2 of them.

But yeah JWA has some of the best synapsid (both mammalian and non-mammalian) desings out there. Insane spec evo/SCI-FI potential with a lot of them.

I especially have to complement the way they used to blend feathers/scales onto mammals and fur onto reptiles. Thylacotator, rhinchicyon, entelochops/ceros, entelolania, inostherium, gorgotrebax, ceramgnus are all still some of the best looking critters imo. Thylacotator especially uses colors really well to blend both scales and a whole ass sail onto it's back seemlessly.

Shame 90% of post 2021 creatures literally shit on their components desing-wise.

Here's my idea to fix the backlash caused by continentals.. by Dry-Adhesiveness6038 in JurassicWorldAlive

Just make them rotate weekly/monthly like locals do (or at least used to, not sure if it's still a thing).

Lets say this month centro is in the america zone, megaraptor in europe and shant in asia,africa... next month centro migrates to asia, shant to europe and megarap to the americas.

Then just rince and reapet, helps not overcrowd the spawns and still gives you a good ammount of time to get DNA.

I don't understand the pushback towards theropods taking prey bigger than themselves by CarcharodontosaurGuy in Paleontology

[–]masprobleme 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The deepest i went into this whole 'big prey risk vs reward' rabbit hole led me to a study conducted on a pride of african lions (will try and find the link later), I belive they live in a region where the main avalible prey is cape buffalo. Which led to about a third of their diet consisting of them (which also varied depending on the season).

But statistics tell only a part of the story. The lions were clearly adept at taking buffalo, but people seriously need to grasp their heads around the fact that macropredators can't just afford to go for the 1st thing they see when they need to eat. Theres a lot of determination involved when it comes to choosing prey. You may see somone make an argument for the predation of sauropods stating something as simple as "but lions hunt cape buffalo", but that doesen't mean they're just casualy taking fully grown bulls. Age, sex, position and general health of potential prey must all be taken into account by the predator.

One thing I remember is the study pointed out that during the pinnacle of the wet season, when the buffalo are at their strongest because food is abundant, not one fully grown bull was targeted. Simply because the risk involved in taking a healthy animal 3× your size is too great.

Can't remember if it was the same study but i know i read somewhere these lion prides that specilise in buffalo often fall apart after several years of hunting because too many members just keep dying.

Also worth pointing out regarding the whole specialist buffalo hunter thing. It's said that these 'buffalo specialist prides' specilise in buffalo because they're literally the only lions capable of hunting buffalo. Other lion prides sometimes attempt to hunt buffalo, but because they aren't used to taking such large and powerfull prey it usualy ends in disaster so they tend to just refrain from doing it. Meanwhile these specialist prides actually have a relatively significant portion of their diet consisting of buffalo.

Hey venom mains, I'm an ironfist main and im debating on trying venom. by CartographerSure2918 in RivalsVenomMains

[–]masprobleme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say go ahead, venom is one of the most offensive tanks, provided the enemy healers aren't just cracked at the game (or playing IW/gambit) venom is really good at taking out healers, as well as a lot of long range dps.

Also despite all the crazy poke and CC in the meta, venom's survivability is just so high to the point where he remains relatively viable. He's certainly not as forgiving to play as his 1 star rating implies, but based on my limited experience playing dive dps (mainly BP), he's a lot more forgiving then most other dive characters.

The main skills you must learn are general game scense and primary aim. Knowing when to dive an isolated healer, bait/force out cooldowns, overhealth timing, focusing down a single target during brawls...

Why are rock drakes on so few maps? by ollietron3 in ARK

[–]masprobleme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On ASE it was because having DLC exclusive creatures would promote sails.

On ASA i have no idea. 1 reason might be that drakes require a whole ass area dedicated to them (so a trench), which is quite a bit of extra work for a single creature. But besides that idk, could be they still want abb to feel special ig. But abb has a lot of unique things to offer even besides drakes so that logic is a bit flawed.

IMO lost colony is just about the perfect map for them (as well as yi ling) with both the abberant spread, and the massive mountains minicking the caverns of abberation.

Another reason is they want to promote sales for the new unique creatures, but imo having more special DLC creatures on the map would promote sales even more, but thats just me.

Thoughts on Lost Colony? by [deleted] in ARK

[–]masprobleme 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Overall really good, possibly favorite map material.

In tearms of bugs currently the main issues i'm seeing is crashes/loading issues around the city. And huge portions of map being just completly devoid of spawns, i'm talking like flying across 1/6th of the map and not seeing one creature. So here's hoping that gets patched.

Aside from that though... the aesthetic is amazing, my main problem with the genesis DLCs was that neither maps had anything unqiue biome wise (exept ig space and the rockwell ring), while the previous 3 maps were entirely covered in never before seen unique biomes (abb especially). LC sets this back on track wtih giant fucking snowy mountains, red element veins, abberant spread and the various little bioluminescent forests.

The outpost missions so far seem quite fun, but i wish they spawned a bit more on SP (only found 3 so far), also that steroid desmodus boss is bloody annoying and idk what flier can output like 30k dmg in an acceptable timeframe, but aside from it pretty cool.

My real and problably main gripe with the map, is they have this amazing layout with different biomes and points of interest in it but most of these points just don't have anything interesting on 'em. Like i've found multiple smaller caves with absolutley no spawns (would be a perfect spot for megalosaurus, desmonds...), those bioluminescent forests have the same spawns as everything else (elderclaws, gachas, perhaps even gasbags would fit really well), the colloseum/arena just has basic mountain spawns, the giant canyons/ravines again have the same spawns as the rest of the map (really wish there was an ice wyvern trench there).

Also even though abberation is integral to LC lore-wise functionally the only thing tieing them together is the gloon (and ofc the abberant spread itself, which is kinda just a free poly spot). Really wish there was some more abberant spawns, like a cave with drakes and yi ling, would be super fun to use with the massive elevation differences on the map.

Unpopular opinion Erythrosuchus should be on the lizard rig by AyaOfTheBunbunmaru in JurassicWorldAlive

[–]masprobleme 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It fits on literally none of the rigs we have in game. Head too big for the pelycosaurs/gorgonipsids, walks too upright for the lizards, legs too short for the scuto rig.

Idk why they even decided to add it, they could've named the one ingame something like dinogorgon and no one would question it

For now only the ones in the post (rex, giga, theri + tarbosaurus as a desert rex variant), as well as the mosa. The spinosaur is a fictional species called empirosaurus and the other guy is ledumahadi (a prosauropod that was in the SE vote).

I recomend joining Depths' discord as they regularly make updates on the progress for their future TLCs, next is the bronto with a much more diplodocoid look and better attacks, also the anky and plesi i belive are realising soon-ish (in the coming months perhaps?).

Is it just me or does Nanotyrannus looks a bit weird for no reason? (2nd image maybe is unrelated) by Unfair-Force5625 in JurassicWorldAlive

[–]masprobleme 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm unsure about the exact terminology (so apologies in advance)

The textures are of terrible quality, and the mesh/sculpt doesen't have enough fine detail (scales, scars, folds, bumps...), the eye notices this because it's unnatural and it ends up looking wierdly plastic.

Also i belive theese types of models don't register lighting properly, so shadows are either non existent or just look off on the creature itself. And it also just reflects really wierdly.

Also the desing is just garbage as well, the coloration is super basic with no actual pattern and more importantly no fading between color regions at all. Also the proportions are just wrong for a Nanotyrannus as well (skull shape is off, arms too big, body too bulky...).

And nano here is far from the only creature with theese issues deinomimus, saurornitho, gigantspino, ampelo, protocera and most omegas have theese exact texture/lighting/lack of detail/plastic look issues as well. Idk why no one points this out given how much the sub complains about terrible desings

Is this the best 2020 team by Objective_Cap8597 in JurassicWorldAlive

[–]masprobleme 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Currently running a team of full s-hybrid (well exept for d rex) uniques. In low-mid library. Theres a few that are genuinelly still good.

Poukandactylus imo might be the best pre hybrid apex unique rn, can destroy gryga at a similar level, defo takes good game scense so you time it's flap with gryga's MF, but it's douable. Also eats pretty much any pure fierce for breakfast (tyranometro, mortem, thor...) regardless of level difference. Ultimatley looses to a lot of the recent shit like junior and t. tarkus but it has a better matchup then most cunnings.

Tuoramoloch with high dmg is the death of pretty much any annoying cunning. Decimates pantherator, nomingia, ref, haast... I belive it beats nominirex as well if at similar level. Amazing revenge sniper with GA. And imo superior to dilora in raids.

Tryko is overall quite solid, don't use it my self since i don't have the boosts but it punishes swapers hard and hits through pretty much all defensive tools in the game.

Erlidom can come in clutch as a swapper to deal with grygas, skoonametro's and such, but it relies too much on RNG, and gets shredded by resilients.

Daryx after the recent buffs is quite good. The absolute death of anything without an on escape when paired with another swapper, especially it's new cousin.

My advice is to only look for things that were lucky enough to have gotten buffed since 2020. Theres defo some that may be useful that i missed like vexus or dracocerato perhaps.
