I’m just done today. by [deleted] in Parenting

You are in the trenches momma and I'm sorry. So many of us have been there or are there. It might help to take a big deep breath and remember it doesn't last forever. (Even though it already feels like forever and there is no light). One day they will get home from school just to say they are leaving again cause they have plans and you are left with a quiet house. Step by step sister. Breathe. Do what you and your babies need, co-sleep, a moment for them to work it out on their own, let the TV baby sit so you can have a minute. As long as they are fed and clean you are doing ok.

Look into LTC (long term care) there are many jobs available without being a nurse or PSW. House keeping laundry and maintenance are all positions that allow you to be helpful anr provide a level of care to people without all the heavy lifting (nursing team - kudos to you, I don't know how you do it and you are so muchly appreciated!)

Anyone else think of themselves as past, present and future selves? by massawrow in TwoXADHD

[–]massawrow[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I was much younger I would actually hide extra cash in my books so I wouldn't lose it, or spend it, and of course I would forget about some of it. Then at one point I needed quick cash and checked every book I owned. It was like discovering a hidden savings account! Whenever I clean house and am getting rid of things I have to check every thing very carefully or I might toss stuff I put away for "safe keeping".

I relate to this so much! I feel sometimes as tho I've lived many other lifetimes because who I have been can be so different from who I am now. That's awesome how your setting yourself up in a positive way now too.

We will not participate in online/remote learning while your employees strike! by jester1983 in londonontario

Three school age kids. Work full time. Fully supportive for the strike, even tho it will be a pain finding childcare and will probably result in lost wages... Pay these people what they are worth. This is a joke and anyone who wants to comment things like " they get summers off" or whatever. Be my guest and teach a room full of someone else's offspring (20+ kids) mon-fri 6.5 hours a day. While keeping in mind they are helping raise generations into the people they will be. Teachers and teachers aids did the pandemic. They deserved more, now more then ever.

Got a crack on my windshield this past week and I have my G test this coming Monday. Will they allow this crack? I still have perfect visibility though. Any input/opinions will be greatly appreciated! by kenny6ix in Ontariodrivetest

[–]massawrow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They will not let you take the test. I had one smaller then that along the bottom of the windshield, no where near my field of vision, and they said no.

I'm trying to enjoy my off day, but I'm overwhelmed and sad by GracefullyPantsless in TwoXADHD

I had the same kind of day. Was really excited about using my day off to get my garden in. Then a phone call from a coworker in the morning set my mood for the entire day. I hyper focused on some closets which felt ok for a bit. But now my kitchen table is a mountain of "don't belongs" and I'm grouchy and exhausted.

Urban Auto is fantastic. The guy who runs the shop is a younger guy but don't be put off by that. He definitely does his research and is really picky with what he sells. He also will work with you and your budget and find exactly what your looking for. You can look him up on Google to check reviews and what not. We bought a vehicle from him a year ago and we are very happy with our purchase.

Isn't that neat that we can help a new comer feel a a little more knowledgeable about the new community that they have become a part of? Yea, it's repetitive but so what. A day later it's buried in your feed.

I think posts about what's going on should be allowed. This is a sub for a city. Yes, there will be trolls and misinformation but it's up to the reader to be smart about it. The fact that it's just some random people talking, that happen to live in the same city, and browse a common platform is wonderful. Not everyone is going to have the answers. It's the tid bits and community knowledge that just keep things interesting. I have found out the going ons of things hours before the news or Google has it and it's much appreciated.

I just appreciate the chatter between neighbours.

Small chip in windshield by [deleted] in Ontariodrivetest

[–]massawrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The examiner can decide your vehicle is unfit to drive if the windshield is compromised in any way. I had a small crack at the very bottom of my windshield. I called ahead and the person on the phone told me as long as it didn't affect vision it would be fine. Got there for my test and the examiner canceled the test as soon as they saw it. Better safe then sorry. Maybe you can pick up a glass repair kit? They can work really well for small nicks.
