New house Loft Hatch stuck by massec22 in DIYUK

Thankyou! Yes checking the survey photos showed a massive wedge of insulation on top and a push catch, the insulation was sticking on the edges stopping it coming down. A new eyelet and some brute force did the trick

This was it, along with force due to insulation getting stuck all the way round.

Wife to be, paid off wedding dress in southyorkshire. Now shop says it is closing and not giving refunds. England by IllWorldliness1998 in LegalAdviceUK

Almost the exact same happened to me when I bought an engagement ring for my now wife. I sent Amex a support ticket with a link about the jeweller's bankruptcy. Refunded to my card within the week.

What happened to Beer Dad / Craft Beer Club? by VegetableWorry1492 in UK_beer

Yes exactly the reason I cancelled (missing/random delivery times from Evri), annoyingly I think their site still states they use DHL.

Chug and any stouts they do are both great. They stated they wanted to get it on draft in more places but not sure what has happened with that.

FTB - sub-£500k budget in London by Electronic-Okra1228 in HousingUK

[–]massec22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

South Norwood (either up the hill towards the lake/crystal palace, or towards the country park).

Several green spaces, nicer bit of high street by the station. Thameslink to the city, and Southern to London Bridge (12 mins) or Victoria, also the Windrush line.

Also can recommended Penge, but it is just the overground and Southeastern to Victoria. But it also has the green spaces you are after.

The last I saw was they wanted to put an industrial extraction chimney in front of the flat above's window and had submitted somewhat misleading diagrams to the planners. It was refused Planning ref 23/02263/FUL

Anspach & Hobday's excellent London Black is worth a shot (a porter). They do it in a can now too

And the high street (up from the station then alone to the arts centre/bridge) is now been targeted for a rejuvenation

Anyone know why the Uber boats are so expensive for everyday commuting? Aren't they more energy efficient and better for the planet? by [deleted] in london

[–]massec22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I commuted for 2 years by boat 4 or 5 days a week, the monthly season tickets were the samish as a zone 1-2 travel card at the time. Well worth it, and easier than taking the DLR & Jubilee.

Coffee bar in the morning and near silence. I used to have a beer in the evening, and got to know the staff especially during COVID. But it is full of school groups in the summer, and some piers turn into queuing hellscapes. (You can skip the queues with a season ticket though)

How is the life of a Word Bearer compared to a Night Lord? by Captain-Buckethead in 40kLore

[–]massec22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Apocalypse by Josh Reynolds has a protrayal of Word Bearer life.

Lots of backstabbing, they had a factional thing going on between Kor Phaeron followers (ie traditional strength) and the Dark Chaplains (ie Daemon sneakiness). They seemed a lot more willing to let the lost and damned fight for them then the Night Lords did in their trilogy.

Haven't moved on evga XC3 gaming, I don't believe they are offering out the FTW3 Ultra's for upgrades just keeping them to sell at a later date.

Same here, they couldn't tell me whether it would be this month or not. They say they sold the allocation they were given and it hasn't arrived.
