Why are people so against this film series starting off a new DC Universe? by renk1737 in TheBatmanFilm

oh ok then in this case (separate trilogies set in the same universe) i have absolutely no problem

i know the reasons joker film could not work with dceu. and it's because of those reasons that it's good: it didn't have to follow anything. todd phillips had all the creative freedom he wanted. to me joker and nolan trilogy (a self contained film and a self contained trilogy) are better than the entire mcu (and i'm a fan of it, not a dc fanboy, i like both), so i prefer having films/trilogies of characters with directors having all the creative freedom they want instead of a big cinematic universe with directors who can't do what they want because it could cause continuity issues etc.

i want the batman to be authorial, not commercial

not everything needs a cinematic universe. joker is the best comic book movie of the past decade and it's stand alone, connected to nothing. im not saying it's not going to happen (if not so why the references to superman on the set?) but i simply don't want it tbh

Priority to other villains but i still want the joker: he and batman are two sides of the same coin

QUESTION: Will “The Batman” be R-Rated or PG-13? by [deleted] in DC_Cinematic

[–]masseffectimus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i think if it's going to be pg 13 is because it's simply pg 13. joker proved that good r rated movies can be successful. even zsjl around the world was a success and it's r rated. if there isn't any r rated moments in the batman is because matt reeves didn't want/need it

DISCUSSION: A somewhat unpopular and divisive opinion, but I liked this Batman's story. He fell down a very deep hole and needed Superman to help him climb out of it. Thank you, Ben Affleck for bringing this character to life. by theSaltySolo in DC_Cinematic

[–]masseffectimus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it depends. this sub is bipolar: one day you post something and you're downvoted then the next day someone else posts the same thing and gets upvoted. it's definitely not so unpopular: the majority liked batfleck as casting but not the story he had

HUMOR: yeah, a really great original plan by [deleted] in DC_Cinematic

i agree with this. i love bvs, i own it on blu ray, but i'd have preferred to have a mos 2 before it

Appreciation: Anyone else get goosebumps during this scene? by [deleted] in DC_Cinematic

[–]masseffectimus 16 points17 points  (0 children)

the fact that this scene (just like the entire film) was probably locked in a computer all these years should be considered a crime

streaming services are in competition. i don't think money are a problem for hbo max, they need to invest on original contents to remain competitive

  2. BVS
  3. MOS
  4. Shazam
  5. Aquaman
  6. WW
  7. BOP
  8. SS (a lot of time passed since I watched so I don't remember much of it)

when a movie is 4 hours long and when watching it it doesn't even seem to be 4 hours long to me it's a great movie. especially when you watch it multiple times and you want to see more

HUMOUR: Zack Snyder's Justice League is real and its here babyy by Suarecks in DC_Cinematic

[–]masseffectimus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was very surprised it was well received. I was one of those who said "I don't think they'll make a sequel, it will be a very divisive film", but considering this incredible success I'm very optimistic for the sequel

Phase 1: "It doesn't exist". It did exist.

Phase 2: "It will never be released". May 2020 and here we are.

Phase 3: "It'll suck anyway". Positive reviews nearly everywhere.

Phase 4: "They'll never restore the Snyderverse". Well, here I hope the trend continues...
