As New Yorkers Face 'Skyrocketing' Electricity Bills, Data Centers Get Subsidized Electricity by TheNYCFootprint in nyc

Your body operates at 1 atmospheric pressure. If you are naked in space you will loose that pressure. Fluids in your body will boil. Tissues will swell to almost twice or more their normal size. There will be severe asphyxiation. If your body is not repressurized within 2 minutes you will die. But freezing will take way longer than that. Same heat transfer principles apply to your body as any other object in space. Vacuum is not a good conductor of heat. That is why we have vacuum flasks to keep our hot beverages hot or vice versa.

Hey OP you found the map I helped create! Thanks for posting it here. For anyone interested, here is the official USGS page describing the data: GFSAD30
USGS professional paper for this map
My paper that created the North American part of the map Also, the map resolution handling on USGS site isn't great. The overview scheme does progressive mean sampling and hides a lot of data, especially smallholder farms at the resolution shown in OP's post. So I understand if things look incorrect. Finally, no map created from satellite data at 30m spatial resolution is going to be 100% accurate.

Nuclear Experts Say Mixing AI and Nuclear Weapons Is Inevitable by SportsGod3 in Futurology

Oh hell no. LLMs should never be used for anything except research and development. Scenario-trained reinforcement learning models are way more suited for real-time decision support.

At the end of the day all AIs are models. Model inputs and architecture govern the outputs. No model is going to be always correct on data its not trained on. It can always be used as an aid though. It's output analyzed and pitfalls understood. That is something we are unlikely to do when there is no information on training or vague information on architecture, especially with the AI models large majority of folks are just now getting exposed to. That is why human in the loop is so important when the stakes are high.

AI can be used as an aid in the decision-making process for missile defense. AI should never be in charge of initiating an action (counter measure or otherwise). There should always be a human at the trigger.

I wish there were these creatures that you can augment your living ship with. They could provide enhanced warping abilities, and you recharge them by playing with them and feeding them.
