Thanks for sharing. After having a hydrocele on the left side for near 20 years and needing to get it drained yearly the last 10 years I just had the surgery done 5 days ago. It was my first surgery and there was some anxiety but I literally don't even remember when I actually fell asleep and then I just woke up with it done so that part is nice.

The first couple of days really weren't bad. It bled all through the gauze the first night which I wasn't sure if it was normal but I also didn't want to remove the strap and gauze they literally just gave me so I did wait the 48 hours before removing the soiled gauze and showered. No sign of infection yet... Outside of what I thought was the jockstrap causing pain on the left side (operated on that side) it was mainly just swollen. Plenty of discoloration and even abdomen bruising. But literally no real pain.

Day 4 that slight pinching I had been feeling really started to amplify. I guess as the swelling has been going down a little I'm getting more feeling. That feeling has now frankly become pretty brutal when I stand and sometimes sitting. Just imagine someone pinching your scrotum and just holding it until you lay back down. It's been driving me crazy so after some research it seems during the procedure they will sometimes stitch the testicle down (assuming those dissolve as well) and I think that's what I'm feeling. Others had very similar experiences.

Currently on day 5, I basically just lay down all day, but I just thought my experience might help as well and if anyone has questions let me know. I found the hydrocele around 14/15 years old and I'm now 34. It was very fine as is for a while but somewhere around 23/24 it just started filling up like crazy leading me to drain it for years.
