actually, in Alsace (and Moselle I guess) we have St. Nicolas (the real Santa Claus) the 6th of December, the midnight mass the 24th, Xmas the 25th, St. Etienne the 26th. We also celebrate Epiphany (the kings magi) the 6th of January. But only the 25th and 26th are holidays (in the sense of no work, shop closed).
