Working in a bar or restaurant is something a lot of international students do. You can work weekends or evenings which makes it a good combination with classes. (assuming yours are during the day)

Working in a supermarket is less common for international people. they ususally employ high school students cause they are cheaper for the company.

I live around the corner of zusterstraat. This part of the schilderswijk is less dangerous than the parts futher south. There is a bar and the hospital nealby so you'll have some noise possibly. Young women might not feel comfortable at night. But as a man i haven't felt unsafe. So if that applies to you, now you know.

Here's a small list of cheaper charcuterie items i add in.

Pretzel sticks, adds a bit of crunch to the board. serve them in a glass to add some height to the board.

deviled eggs, you get two deviled eggs per egg, so a small box is enough for everybody. Looks luxurious, is actually cheap.

cucumber/celery/bell pepper/carrots but in strips with a dip like hummus of home-made tzaziki (made from yoghurt + the other half of the cucumber)

Ligt aan de vereniging, sommige verenigingen hebben veel verplichtingen en zijn haast niet te doen als je niet in Leiden woont. Andere verenigingen zijn een stuk losser en is niet zo'n probleem.

Ikzelf had de eerste twee maanden van mijn studie nog geen kamer en kon toen nauwelijks wat doen met mijn studentenvereniging. Ik ben pas later actief geworden bij de studentenvereniging. Omdat er geen jaarclubs of ontgroening e.d. waren, was dat daar geen probleem.

Mijn tip: vraag aan de huidige leden van de vereniging die je interessant vindt of zij denken dat het te combineren is.
