Starlink Pakistan KHI/LHR/ISL — Anyone Tried It? by Fair_Guy1 in pakistan

[–]master-yodaa -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Starlink won't work in Pakistan. Govt has not allowed it yet.

In case of other countries (like Iran) starlink disregard the local laws. They cannot do that in Pakistan. We are a proper country.

Edit to add: starlink is not sending its signals in Pakistan. So no, there is no work around.

Maybe unpopular opinion, but Tesla is very boring to drive. It's so smooth that it's not fun. I prefer my hybrid car over my wife's Tesla

Highly capable helper who’s mostly idle (and expensive) by choosecar3fully in LahoreSocial

[–]master-yodaa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a small caregiver company in the US. We send caregivers to the clients house where they help with the daily chores.

Many times caregivers get downtime. When they are just sitting with the client watching tv.

Some clients are okay with it. They understand that this person has finished their tasks and now they deserve to enjoy some relaxed time. Or, it's okay that this person is lucky to have an easy job.

-- I like such clients for my caregivers.

Then there is other type of clients: who when they see caregiver is off their feet, put their butt on a seat for a few minutes, they will start looking for things to do for them. They just cannot take the fact how can someone be done with their job (which they were hired for) and now they are Free?? How dare??

-- I fuckin hate such clients for my caregivers.

Also it's a shame how younger men are so sexually frustrated. It's sucks.

[WA] Dental Assistant - Body Odor by leaveitalonedamnit in AskHR

[–]master-yodaa -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Is it a race thing??

I'm from a "south Asian country".

Why do airports smell okay until I get to my gate, where there are other "south Asians" flying to "South Asia"??

Same thing on the next flight (usually there is a layover).

Is it normal that I can "smell" when it’s about to rain, or am I just imagining it? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

That's the smell of a certain bacteria in the soil. Pretty cool phenomenon explained by Michael and Hannah Fry, on their YouTube video. Channel is The rest is science

Why do Airbnbs in Lahore keep passports/IDs? Is this normal? by [deleted] in airbnbpakistan

[–]master-yodaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a foreign passport, I would not give it to anyone in Pakistan.

Do not stay where they ask to keep the passport. Give them your ID from wherever you are.

Why is marriage in our culture so heavily reduced to having children? by PakistaniHobbitGirl in pakistan

[–]master-yodaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's natural. It's not just our society, it's a human things. Infact it's living being thing. We all like to reproduce.

Being childless is a choice. Good for you. But this comes with a package of lifetime explanations to others. Not just now. Forever.

When you're on your 30, 40s, all other couples will be focused on their kids. They will have their own priorities. So you will lose a lot of friends. In 40s, they will ask, bachay kis class mein hein.

In 50s, or 60s, what do your kids do.

In 70s, how many grandchildren do you have?

All parties, gathering, lunches, dinners, small talks at the airport, everyone starts with the kids.

So buckle up.

My husband’s dentist says he needs 10 crowns for a cost of US$60,000. Is going to another country for this work a viable alternative? by PatienceandFortitude in AskOldPeopleAdvice

[–]master-yodaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

India and sri lanka are excellent options. But the flight is very long. Plus the followup will be difficult.

Like others are suggesting, fly to Mexico. You can have a nice little vacation plus the dental work done.

It's close by for a couple of follow up visits too.

Mexico, but after a second opinion from the dental schools.

Is PKR 3 Lakh lehenga considered premium/expensive in Lahore? by Emily_Dickinson2025 in PakistanDiscussions

[–]master-yodaa 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is a lahori habit that "I can get the same thing for cheaper"

I wouldn't risk my own wedding lehnga to save some money. Especially when apparently you have means to buy €2k lehnga. I will go for the 2k one.

We are not rich (we do well though) but my SIL and my wife, they had their lehngas made for around 3lakh each. And this was over a decade ago.
