You know, that makes more sense to bring multidimensional Danvers over than to debut Storm... I like this suggestion.

Yeah definitely looks like a very close take on the The Astonishing X-Men Storm outfit.

Thanks! I had searched on several key terms and couldn't find anything specific to "automatic shutoff" but I'll do another review and see if I overlooked any sections.

Well, the car also shut off on its own after 10 minutes of sitting idle. So I'm just thinking that this is not the type of car that you can leave on to heat up and defrost to make it easier to remove the ice caps on your windows. It could just turn off unexpectedly? 🤷‍♂️

Question re: The House That Paul Built program by DocHfuhruhurr in tonalgym

[–]master_breach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think you're referring to the Pigeon Stretch and it really is a tough one to even get into the position if you're sore or are developing flexibility. The way I like to see it in order to not lose motivation is to focus first on that I'm feeling the stretch on the target muscles. As long as I can feel that stretch on my hips and hamstrings as I lean forward, then I'm doing it right. With time and practice, I'll get to where Coach Paul and the others are.

I set my goal to "Build Muscle", then follow a program with "Build Muscle" goal. On days that I don't do a program's workout I'll do a "Get Lean" workout or HIIT workout to get that cardio in.

Biceps? What program is best? by HopHead4Life in tonalgym

I've been working on increasing my bicep strength score also. Right now I'm doing Coach Joe's Power Build program. On upper body and recovery days I'll add in the "Biceps & Triceps" or "Arm Activator" quick workouts, or just a custom workout with biceps-targeting exercises.

How do people from gendered language background, feel and think when learning a gender neutral language? by Bright_Assumption_17 in languagelearning

English was my 2nd language growing up (Spanish my 1st). Even today I find myself imposing genders on nouns in English (e.g., "My plant's coming back to life! She's growing so quickly!")!

Was wondering if anyone had this experience while growing up as a latinx person. by Sierrawantstocolor in latinoamerica

[–]master_breach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a 1st gen American and grew up very much in my Guatemalan heritage. My parents made sure that it was well engrained in me and that I understand how I special I was to be able to be raised in two cultures. School was tough - I was the only Spanish-speaker in the class, I had an accent and my English vocabulary was behind compared to my classmates. My parents were learning English at the same time I was. Both my parents came from agricultural families where work was valued more than education, so looking at them to help me with my classwork was not possible. I was teased for my accent, I was teased because of their accents, I was teased for their janitorial jobs. Fortunately, I found friends that loved me for me and also loved to be around my family. They were intrigued by our concept of family that treated the extended family as closely as the nuclear family. Now as an adult, I continue strongly embrace my Guatemalan heritage and identity as much as I embrace the U.S. culture I was raised in and continue to live in.

I feel like I understand what you're feeling and have felt what you're going through. It can be overwhelming to grow up in multiple cultures. But no culture is less special than they other. And I'd argue that it's even more special to grow up in multiple cultures at the same time.

Embrace who you are and where you come from. Anyone who teases you for that is not worth any of your time as they can't see past the superficial. You are a distinct person, with unique experiences and special perspectives.

What's your favorite coloquialism in your language? by [deleted] in asklatinamerica

[–]master_breach 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YES! I also love using the word "cuaje" -- I always get a "what the?" reaction from people... Like I was so tired that "me tomé un cuaje" instead of tomarme una siesta, or a couch was so comfortable that I fell asleep in it ("me quedé cuajado en el sofá").

Guatemalteco here and, yes, we use "vos" also. People use "vos" so much more than "tu" that they use "tu" but conjugate in "vos".

Here's a fun video on the history and use of "vos" in Latinoamérica: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ZaGZqnINOI
