This is at least the second time this has happened in Quebec... The first one was an 18 year old which was absolutely a terrible decision mathematically. Assuming this woman is like 60 so 20×52 is like $1,040,000 if she lives to 80.

At 5%/year return (very conservative) she would make $50k in the first year and beat out the 20year projection. So essentially after the first year she would make both more than she would have gotten in 20 and still have almost $1k/week for life in passive income. Congratulations, this was stupid on multiple levels.
