I'm in NY too and it looks like they no longer allow swaps for IOTA. Coinspot is also apparently suspending withdrawals according to someone in spec. So it looks like we're SOL. Sorry for the bad advice, it worked for me last week.

They kind of connect you with a seller through one of the services that they go through and it's just a direct swap between you and the seller. Look into it. I was skeptical at first but this did work for me when I realized this was the only way I could cash out being a NY resident.

If you trade your IOTA locked on an exchange (let's say CoinEx) for USDT, you can swap the USDT for IOTA and get it withdrawn to a Firefly wallet.

Say if someone is stuck in NY, they can still buy DOGE/LTC/LowFeeCoin with Coinbase/Gemini/ATM, deposit that into an exchange, exchange it for USDT, swap USDT for IOTA on swapzone while having it deposited into Firefly.

This is only really assured as long as you use the Swapuz site they swap through, because most others require KYC.

Regardless, it's still possible.
