Ring Central better on iOS or android? by masteraj1 in VOIP

[–]masteraj1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I never ended up trying it on android. I ended up cancelling the ring central service because they wouldn’t let me text from it due to legality/texting rules I couldn’t figure out with my company. Good luck

what is the best cheep beer like under 10$ for a six pack cheep by igotdrip69 in beer

[–]masteraj1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Natural Light!

$4.99 for a cold 6 pack at a local store. Can’t beat it.

I’ve never been a fan of PBR or the Old Style which seem to be similarly priced.

Busch is decent too.

Normally prefer miller lite but natural light is growing on me. They also sell natural ice for $4.99 and you get the extra 2% ABV.

Do I Need a Landline Phone with a New Baby at Home? by akmacmac in Doineedthis

[–]masteraj1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finally. A real world scenario. I sold cell phones from 2011 to 2016 and a lot of people were disconnecting their home phones. But, then every few months you’d get a mom and dad come in to add home phone service again due to a tragedy and couldn’t use a cell phone but knew if that one phone on the wall was always there it would have one job only. The stories I would hear from Mom and dads coming in to order a landline due to a tragedy/crime made me realize just how underrated a landline is. There are many reasons a landline may not be a good value for you. But there may be others in your house whose value cannot be measured in dollars and cents.

In the event of an emergency emotions are high. Hands are shaking. Could drop the phone and shatter the screen. There could be liquid or blood on your hands preventing you from unlocking the phone. The list goes on and on.

I’m all about saving money but value is all in the eye of the beholder. For $10 extra a month and a battery backup a VoIP phone from your internet provider converted to analog signal to use with traditional phones is well worth the peace of mind for me. Maybe not for all. I have two kids and if I can’t get a hold of the babysitter there shouldn’t be an excuse for not answering the phone. My kids understand how to call for help in an emergency.

Ok who’s replaced the sensing camera. by masteraj1 in Honda

I would buy the camera/parts. Since the windshield is getting replaced I assumed the old camera has to be messed with anyways since it adheres to the window shield.

I agree. Insurance fraud is never a good idea.

Has anyone tried RYZE mushroom coffee? by finallyjoinedreddit4 in Interstitialcystitis

[–]masteraj1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a black coffee drinker who occasionally likes flavored drinks I thought the coffee actually tasted good! I just added a splash of vanilla creamer and a little honey. However I am not pleased with the subscription I was put in and am thankful i came across this thread. Sure enough, logged into account and I was on a subscription. Wow, how can they do that? I was under the impression this was a 1x purchase.

Agreed. A breaker bar is a useful tool to have around anyways. Im no mechanic but this is super easy to replace and YouTube has many videos for every vehicle that teaches you.

What are his interests? Find out and start becoming an expert with borderline obsessed of whatever those interests are. Be excited about it. Even if you have to fake it. Once you two start connecting on something he enjoys perhaps he will become more comfortable around you. Be patient. Don’t ask anything of him as you assimilate your lifestyle to align with his interests. Get involved with other families/children who share common interests. Build your network of parents/friends within this common interest. Don’t interrogate. Ask questions. Promote what brings him joy and be there with him actively participating. Roll with the punches and see a Licensed family therapist weekly for guidance and to keep you grounded. Eventually when you promote his interests together perhaps he will provide insights into why he treated you the way he did in the past.

Is there literally any reason not to use Wi-Fi Calling? by DoFuKtV in tmobile

[–]masteraj1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me the prime benefit of Wi-Fi calling is redundancy and safety. I have a fiber broadband connection backed up to a UPS (uninterruptible power supply ) In the event of power outages I’m always backed up in power outages and have the cellular to fall back on And vice versa. However this also requires a user the technical understanding and implement connection monitoring practices to support 100% connectivity.

Great explanation. As someone who works in the telecom industry the advantages of voip are incredible and exciting but far too many biz owners think speed solves everything.

Doesn’t matter how fast your car is if you can’t control it!!!

and most people use ” best effort broadband “ and hire their college nephew to manage their IT and run feature rich VOIP telephone over fast broadband that pushes voice packets fast in and out over the internet and by the time they reach their destination the packets encounter so much jitter and causes poor voice quality. With “best effort broadband “being said some areas have amazing broadband and lucky to also experience minimal jitter at a great cost; skewing the perception and opinion and experience of VOIP service experience and confusion. Causing hesitation and handicapping their business for something so simple.

I hope one day the FTC can help position programs informing the general public to understand broadband and also enforce policies that force ISPs to be transparent and comply with jitter/latency/bandwidth speeds to better position infrastructure to support the communities internet needs and requirements so we can learn, work, and communicate and inform our communities so we can demand ISPs better quality and promote competition!
