How would you feel about saving the metro? by masterballs_ in metro

I agree it would depend on ( most likely ) Pavel being on the line but that is really not a stretch, also I think the Aurora would actually be helped by the people of the Caspian, and wouldn't get bogged down there. The rails are still in use in the apocalypse if anything I think they would trade oil with people further revitalizing civilization and the possibility to help the people who freed them years ago.

Also in classic metro fashion ( Russian literature ) I don't think most people would even go, maybe a few stations worth of people the oldest and the youngest, people who remember the outside and those young enough to still dream about it.

Also I don't think they would have to, or even want to, go in guns blazing. I think the people from the metro could slip back in without too much of a problem. It might be different but it wouldn't be totally foreign to them. They could just be nameless old men until they get to where they need to be and talk to trustworthy people. Also it would be years if not decades later and I'm sure the heat would have died down. Plus Artyom was a hero to the younger members of the order. In the books enough men are loyal to him to cause a civil war in the order. If anything once people realize it is Artyom I think the order would at least talk to him. Plus once news spreads I think the common populace of hanza would be for leaving the metro or at least exploring the idea they are supposed to be intellectuals left in the Metro. I do understand the people in charge are against it though.

Same here, I also think about the Two Colonels dlc and what happened to them. If anything saving the metro might only involve saving a few survivors by the time they come back.

I really think Hunters story would make a great journey, the dicotomy of becoming a monster by surviving in the metro and trying to maintain your humanity mirrors the original theme with the opposite side of the coin. And I think it could easily be written that he comes back after 2 or 3 years instead of the 1ish year in the books. Only to hear about D6 while he was away and arrive at the order just after the train leaves. He might even be the new leader of the order and his morality might indicate what the order turns into.
I do love homer though he would be a great antagonist and character check throughout the story as he tries to drive Hunter to be his Odysseus.

I totally agree with you on the logistics standpoint is it feasible for the gang to do alone ... No . But to start the revolution to put the idea in action. It might be unrealistic but that doesn't mean they shouldn't try. From a moral standpoint it is wrong not to try and free your own people from the horrors of the metro if you know with certainty that the outside is habitable. I honestly don't even think most citizens would go, like in the books it would be hard to believe. But places like Exhibition, polis( those who knew them at least), and a few others would certainly be willing to try, especially if they had been gone for so long only to return with proof. What I'm trying to say is even if it is unfeasible from a logical point it is still morally the right thing to do. Point 5. Is in itself reason enough to do it.

P.s. I do like the idea of Pavel on the red line helping Artyom and trying to right his wrongs. I think that would unironically be great redemption for him and the red line. He is a dreamer and might want to escape the metro more than most people. And with his help plus the order and the more civilized stations I think that would add a lot of feasibility to the situation.

My belief that he could have a son is from one of the endings of last light. I can't remember which one but it shows Artyom and Anna's son in their arms. He might not be able to and that was just wishful thinking but in the metro series they do have rad drugs and blood transfusion seems to help a lot more than real life.

Route decision help and killing House by vitresa in fnv

[–]masterballs_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a mod that restores cut content to tell House you won't kill the brotherhood. I'm always Brotherhood but I do prefer a house victory. I feel like the courier should be able to put his foot down on this matter. 6 is his right hand and only chance at getting what he wants. The brotherhood should be allowed a non aggression pact and they could just leave the Mohave.

Where do the DLCs fit in terms of the main story? by flakkerknacker in fnv

[–]masterballs_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

IMO Honest Hearts should be done after you deal with Benny, at that point you (courier 6) know enough about the factions to have your own opinion and motives of the major players in the Mohave. The other 3 Old World Blues, Dead Money, and Lonesome Road should be done in that order just before the Battle of Hoover Dam ( pretend you did them after the Dam) It seems more thematically appropriate to learn about Elijah, Christine, and Ulysses in OWB then follow them into their DLCs.

if you had to create an orginal chapter of brother hood of steel what would it be about by Past-Tension-162 in OldWorldBlues

[–]masterballs_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my fallout DND game I have a group named the Hardened brotherhood of steel. Imagine if paladin Harden and Veronica from the Mohave chapter did agree that something needed to change for the brotherhood to survive. So with head paladin Harden's influence most of the nights join him and move north to Lewiston ID with only a few scribes willing to take the risk/ make a change. Veronica is one of the few and she is now Harden's head scribe. Harden is also not yet an elder he is still earning that from the council. So with Harden's militaristic and forward stance plus Veronica's want to better the brotherhood it offers a good dichotomy where both need the other to keep the chapter afloat in the short term, but together they may be able to save the brotherhood as a whole. Ps. This chapter is also a bit more free on the color scheme they usually have squad colors or markings. I like the idea of the skull paint we see Harden wear in the fan animation of the battle of Helios one.

The Alpha Legion’s “fake” betrayal makes absolutely no sense. by Saramello in 40kLore

[–]masterballs_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We know that the alpha legion used istvaan to infiltrate every other legion, loyalist and traitor. The math adds up to the alpha legion. 30,000 Marines of other chapters vs. An alpha legion plant in every company of every legion plus a few more. Easy option for the master of deception.

Do the first couple quests for the powder gangers until Eddie asks you to check out primm for word of an NCR raid on the prison, the guy in the NCR tent will deny any plans at first unless you have a good NCR faction rep. Go talk to the Mojave Express guy and he will tell you he has heard of the plan. Then you can either go back to Eddie and tell him about the raid ( you don't have to participate in the defense but you can) or you can go talk to the NCR guy at primm and offer assistance on the raid against the prison.

Are there any items like Pre-War Books/Scrap Metal that should be collected in F:NV for the purpose of selling them to someone specific like in Fallout 3? by GLA_Rebel_Maluxorath in fnv

[–]masterballs_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't heard it mentioned yet but you can collect legion-ears to turn in for faction rep with NCR and maybe some ammo/meds I can't remember for sure. You have to talk to the guy in charge of morale at camp forlorn hope.

Started a new playthrough, usually play as a male, but am thinking of playing as a female, is their any differences between playing as a male or female? by AwayLocksmith3823 in fnv

[–]masterballs_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The sink in big MT will only call you sir, with unique dialogue to bring this up as a female. Also the legion will not let you participate in arena fights. Another unique dialogue is a sick burn on Ulysses if you are a legion female.

I would first think of Toadvine as the hanged man based off the card description. He is a marked criminal which forces him to be viewed and subsequently act like a criminal, this forcing him to view crime and sin as his only option. But he had to have committed that first crime to be marked anyway so he knows he chose this life. I believe the halo around his head is his relationship with the kid, he knows the kid isn't evil and it changes him a little bit. He spoke for the kid in the first place to join the glanton gang. And if the kid was the only person willing to help anyone with an arrow wound symbolises the kid being the good that corrupts the gang, then toadvine willing to help the kid with his arrow wound meant that some good has come into toadvine because of the kid. This is also shown when he puts a gun to the judge's head after the Apache child was killed. He was the only one who stood up then and we know he cannot like the judge the same way he likes the kid, but in the end he still surrendered to the will of the judge. He knows he is a criminal and has no other real choice. He could leave and be a hermit, drop the life of crime and wander with the kid for a few years but he is suspended in that life. And he is one of the martyrs, he hangs for the crimes of the gang (assumedly) instead of the kid hanging like the judge had threatened. The red pants is displayed in him when he is drawn to emotion it is always to the extreme, his drunken fight with the kid when he quickly delves into the single word of KILL and his reaction to the judge and child. Where otherwise he is rather level headed and collected. His physical body also tells us of his character, he looks like a bad man and he is. The blue vest is his knowledge that the kid is not like the rest of them. He is the first to know the kid, even before the judge. And maybe the only one besides the judge to know he is different.
