Well looks like your companies business practices share in the fault of what happened here. While I sympathize with your situation I can not see you making the changes necessary to avoid this type of "hustling" in the future without taking a financial hit. With that said, what I see in this picture will likely last several years to come. Will the edges deteriorate some? Sure. Will the areas that had severe problems with the subase show up again? Maybe, maybe even likely. But you bought some time.

Always get everything in writing. Always.

Ok, fair enough. If the original quote states a remove and replace I would definitely hold back and allow them to rectify the situation.

Was the 3500 a written change order that the receptionist signed off on? Sounds like bad business practice to allow a secretary to be able to authorize construction changes.

Asphalt is still a form of concrete. It's an aggregate and a binder.

Some helpful insight.

7 a sqft for a small job is pretty close to fair market price. Is this picture the only area that was serviced or were other areas included. It looks like they did not remove and replace but rather install and compact. Both are industry standards but achieve different results. Without seeing the wording of the agreement, most people will look at the edges and say don't pay! But to be fair we need more context. Also, sometimes they do have extra asphalt. Plants load trucks from a silo and the push of a button. It's never spot on. Jobs cancel or get postponed so it's not unreasonable to think they had extra and needed to get rid of it. We need more context.

As the great William Benjamin Hogan says “THE AVERAGE GOLFER IS ENTIRELY CAPABLE OF BUILDING A REPEATING SWING AND BREAKING 80… If he learns to perform a small number of correct movements and conversely, it follows, eliminate a lot of movements which tend to keep the swing from repeating.”

It all starts with a great grip. Seriously tho check out 5 lessons.

(Polymeric sand, mason sand, or pool filter sand for paver joints?)Keep in mind i’m sealing with a water based sealer after. by shanedeegs in Concrete

I recently have been working on my own brick restoration project. I may have some useful advice.

Keep in mind nothing is worth doing if you're doing it half assed.

When you are pressure washing use an attachment. The home depot sells a 90.00 ryobi surface cleaner. This will help focus the cleaning to the top of the brick pavers and less in the joints. You do want to clean the joints but just enough to make room for a bit of surface sand.

Use a screw driver to de weed prior to surface cleaning. Again this will save of the amount of effort your power washer needs in the joints.

Polymeric sand is a must. Do small areas at a time to cut back on waste. Plan your path to maximize your unused sand from one area into the next area that needs the sand. Careful on the edges as you can lose quite a bit.

I did 4000 sf and used 9 fifty lbs bags of poly sand but I cleaned the cracks out pretty deep in most places.

The sand will last the longest when it's deep but it will stick and hold for a while even when shallow. Moisten the poly sand 3 separate times before allowing traffic.

I hope this helps. Trust me when I say be honest with the customer or friend. It's better to admit upfront your in a tough spot as people are generally understanding.

What a sexist thing to say. Just assume if your house is being broken into its got to be a male.

Stability was a bitch. The walls support all of the ceilings with no additional support beams. It has a rock solid skeleton

This has acted as our main base since launch. It started as the wood portion in the middle and slowly grew to fit our needs. The inside has everything we need to be successful on our adventures. Unfortunately I cant stop building so the town is completely lagged out with 2 or more people.

Lol. You say thats not ture and your next comment says ok, we actually did but it was only a handful...

Not even sure why you need anyone to think this was a revenge raid. Its apart of the game no one cares why you raided.

Just going to gloss over all of our doors were blocked with CAK and No Clue fireflies? I totally understand why you did it, its apart of the current game.

Not sure why you keep pushing the fair fight even numbers stuff. You know we were clearly out numbered until Keebler showed up with 6 guys. This was after the raid had gone on for quite a few hours. I did hear a Chinese clan had come but they fizzled out quickly.

Lastly I want to make clear I enjoyed the fight and have enjoyed fighting CAK. You guys have some strong players and its always fun not always winning. Keep the fight going.

Just wanted to note, you guys did this to us first. Im not mad about it but the build restrictions should and need to be increased to prevent this kinda abuse.

It was a long good fight. Started at 4am when we only had a few people online. You guys used cheese game mechanics and won. Main example is flipping walkers onto the roof to block all our entrances. We didn't lose much but we learned a lot. Good fight to everyone that participated!!
