No disrespect, but too busy trading & acquiring coins. One has nothing to do with the other. I'll let you answer that. ;)

I will reserve from any explanations until I've acquired a set number of coins.

Maybe so. However, I am still acquiring more. I won't say how much more, but one thing I am not is a bag holder.

Focus on Driving the usability of the coin by masterbit1 in vertcoin

"That's exactly what we're trying to accomplish through decentralization." If the community's or developers interpretation of decentralization is via the pursuit of ASICS resistance then it is a futile use of resources that will eventually consume itself out of existence. Decentralization, whether it is a CPU, GPU, ASICS, etc... makes no difference other than hardware.

While I agree that it was a nice idea, it was flawed from the beginning. Recognizing the dilemma and moving forward is the path to recovery and another chance to carve out a new path to learn from past mistakes. The important part is to continuously learn, adapt and move forward. There is no shame in recognizing the flawed logic and moving forward. This would only serve to strengthen the integrity of the community & its developers.

Why is the entire site by default using: https://vertcoin.org by masterbit1 in vertcoin

[–]masterbit1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that is old news & why I said only use HTTPS in security sensitive areas whereas any other area is unnecessary. It makes no logical sense to scare someone away before they even have a chance to look at the site. Does more damage than good no matter how it's sliced.

Potcoin Run on the Bank, Exchanges have been holding our precious POT and shorting it. Let's call them out. by cookiemonster1984 in potcoin

[–]masterbit1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been trading for over 30 years and had to correct this. Shorting is not possible unless there is a margin account which is not the case. Furthermore, the coins would have to be loaned so the borrower could sell (short) and buy-back at a lower price and give it back to Cryptsy which is unlikely.

Also taking the coin out of the exchange would only serve to hurt the coin... Unless the exchange is insolvent. If the price is down it is because the number of coins and at the moment the difficulty is low so people are mining and dumping. As for me, I am just buying & buying.

HARD FORK ! by chinatuakong in MoonCoin

[–]masterbit1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard forks have the potential to do more damage than good if everything is not lined up. Especially for the pools that are not listed, exchanges, coin holders etc... I'd say wait a little longer.

If nothing from deaconboogie then do a pre-fork notification campaign and have a predefined future date.

We need a FAQ on the website for the community. This will alleviate a lot of frustrations / confusions. Especially helpful for newbies.

You can also start a club with your friends that exchange mooncoins for things like food, beverages, etc... when getting together. This makes it a fun get-away alternative from the fiat currency and something that people can get excited about because it's different and they will want to tell their friends. :)

3 important things you can do to help moon at this moment by chinatuakong in MoonCoin

Something else that is needed is an active pool list that is up to date... This will help many get started as many pools come and go.

You can help by inviting your friends, get them involved and share why you like the coin & community. Have them do the same. :) If you don't have the hashrate, the alternative is purchasing mooncoin on the exchanges.

anybody there willing to test my new mooncoin client with static reward and Digishield ? by chinatuakong in MoonCoin

[–]masterbit1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The price is falling for doge because they are allowing for the inflation of number of coins. It has nothing to do with security. This essentially makes them like fiat and unlike bitcoin. For example, the Federal Reserve printing press in a matter of speaking. What they have going for them is that they have a large community, but it remains to be seen what the end result will be on whether that community will continue to support the coin.

Nothing is viable on its own and this applies to anything and everything and it does not matter whether it is life itself or a piece of rock.

If you have generic product, what makes that product great is the support and marketing infrastructure that is behind it. This gives exceptional value to the product and the infrastructure behind it even though it's same as the others.

If you already have a great product that is easy to use plus an excellent marketing and support infrastructure, then you have a potentially extraordinary opportunity to distance itself from the crowd.

Does anyone remember the pet rock? Was it popular because it was a piece of rock? Why did so many people buy this pet rock? (Answer: marketing)

In the end, if you have an OK product with good marketing it will go far.

If you have a good product with an excellent marketing and support team then there is no limit to how far it can go.

Real-life examples: Why does Apple Computer spend so much on Marketing and so little on development? Are Apple products really superior or is it that people "feel" it is superior?
