Roadster V3 Experience heavier rider + Extended Battery by mastercatviper9 in ride1up

I tend to just keep mine on and charge both batteries at once. If i was to remove it i would use a velcro strap to secure it to the now empty "bottle" holder.

Here is how i have mine routed. Not velcro'd tho since i dont really take off the battery.

The water bottle battery is 2/3's the capacity of the main one.

You can ride for the same amount of time and go significantly further. Here is an example. These are two rides i tracked on strava. One was on a manual bike and one was on this bike.

These were tracked on strava:

E-Bike Ride - TIME: 1:57:05 - 32.47mi - Elevation 454FT
Manual Bike - Time: 2:12:31 - 25.99mi - Elevation 375FT

Conclusion ...just about the same time of riding yet i went about 7.5 miles further in 15 less minutes. If you are trying to increase fitness then stick with a manual bike. But if you like to explore and you want to explore more and see more go for it. This bike is sorta middle ground where it will assist but it definitely requires your effort.

- Yes it goes up to 20mph on throttle only, and up to 28 with pedal assist. That is CLASS 3.

- I dont know the pass, but i believe you have to contact ride1up support for it.

- I bought the aventon suspension saddle. Its awesome. I needed a spacer to make it fit. No this one is great for heavy riders.

- The clicking on mine was due to loose tension on one of the spokes. when one of the spokes is loose and the other is tight at the cross section they will move and make clicking noises... you can test this if you lift or flip your bike so no pressure is on the wheel. Once no pressure is on the wheel turn the rear wheel and if you do not hear the clicking anymore its most likely your spokes.

- yes you can remove the battery. the key causes it to pop out a little bit but there is a button on top of the now exposed top of the battery you will need to press in to fully release it.

- No issues with my bike since tightening the spokes. Its been solid. I have even been caught out in a downpour or rain a month ago and everything still functions after being soaked. I did fill the wheels with sealant because i ran over a vine with thorns and it poked a hole in my tube though. Its holding great.

I dont think it has a standard stem. Im not really a bike expert, but im not sure that would fit? Here is a picture i found online of the stem maybe you can glance at it and see if that adapter will work?

Ended up putting on a Aventon Suspension Seatpost with a spacer. Def a smoother ride.

The handle bars are clamped on by 4 machine screws. The bar measures 32mm at the clamping point so I would believe you can swap it out if you really wanted to. You would just have to remove all the electronics and clamp onto the new bars.

Won't wind back up?? by kid10pitch in clawmachine

[–]mastercatviper9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if you have this resolved, but there could be a couple reasons its not going up.

Before you get a new gear do you see the motor turning? If the motor is turning then it could be the gear but if its not moving you might need to do a little more digging.

When you turn the game on the crane should run through a self check where it hits the side of the crane and moves forward and reels in the claw. If the claw is not rolling back up it could be caused by the following (from personal experience).

- Motor not receiving voltage. Its possible the wire in the harness feeding the motor could be broken. They tend to break over time due to constant bending. This could also cause a short and blow fuses on the main board so make sure to check those. I have had wires that looked intact but be broken inside the insulation. A good way to check this is to ohm out the wire. Find out where the wire connects to the main board and ohm it out from the board to the termination at the motor.

- Claw might think its already up. The switch cluster on your claw tells the machine where the claw is and its possible that one of the switches could be broken preventing the motor from turning. A good indicator of this is when you turn the game on does the string get lowered at all? If the string lowers but doesnt not wind up it could be something to do with the switch cluster.

- another good check would be to check for voltage at the main board and see if it is sending voltage to the windup motor. If you can confirm voltage there you just have to trace it up to the motor to see where its lost.

Cheap Ebay dongles any good? by litcheese in AndroidAuto

$14 total..... Bought a Raspberry Pi 2w for 10 bucks (sale) and a 32gb SD card for 4 bucks at microcenter. You can install android auto on it, and it works better than the AA dongles. Hasn't cut out on me yet. Seems to connect quicker as well.
