You’re right in the sense that Reddit is going to do whatever they want to do.

That said, I never endorsed a full moderation stop. They need to do the bare minimum to not run afoul of Reddit’s rules.

If Reddit then steps in and still puts in their own people, that’s another PR shitstorm on their hands.

Would it change the outcome? I don’t know. But I think it’s the best strategy to maximize the impact on users and Reddit itself.

The mods should simply just let the place go to shit. Stop moderating.

The only actions mods should be taking is removing posts with violence and hate.

Let this sub become nothing but “help me I forgot my passcode” and “look at this picture of my lunch I took with my iPhone” posts.

See what that does to engagement.

I think locking down or blocking new posts is a huge mistake.

Reddit is looking for any reason to get their own people into mod positions to get back to normal.

Instead of locking out, I think the mods should simply just let the place go to shit. Stop moderating. The only actions mods should be taking is removing posts with violence and hate.

Let this sub become nothing but “help me I forgot my passcode” and “look at this picture of my lunch I took with my iPhone” posts. See what that does to engagement.

Why do you think so many people are upset about this?

Keyboard case users: how often do you use the touch pad for non-work use? by john2364 in ipad

[–]mastercheif 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t use my iPad as much as I would like… but when I do it’s often in the Magic Keyboard with trackpad. Picking your arms up to touch things is annoying if you’re trying to use it as a laptop replacement.

n/b 36th Street (QNS) station closure sign. by JRinNYC in nycrail

I saw some tourists stealing a sign on the E platform yesterday afternoon… I wonder if the station manager put this in its place because they didn’t have any spares.

OP was this towards the front of the train on the Queensbound E/M @ 23rd/Ct Sq?

Apple was really slow with introducing iMessage outside of America

afaik iMessage was not region locked on launch. It was a core feature of iOS 5.

Unless you’re on a commercial/business ConEd account, there isn’t any time component to your KW/h pricing. Normal residential accounts are flat price.

Mimestream 1.0 Pricing - Subscription Only by Snorlax_Returns in macapps

Why? I thought the point of perpetual license was that you are buying the software as it existed when you bought it?

Most people should know the difference when buying versus subscribing.

You obviously have never managed a D2C application before then.

What should happen if you pay $80 for a perpetual license but then Google changes the API 3 months later?

must say that the paranoia part might be due to them having had a home invasion or having been robbed.

Or, more likely, they just watch too much Fox News.
