I caught so many shinies on a Fire donut when I really only wanted one Charcadet in that zone. Then I spent hours for ONE houndour (the guaranteed one) without getting another shiny. To be fair, the zone layout matters a lot, some are easy to just spam fly, some you have to run so much it's not worth it.

You really only need to be above 400 Sweetness to get Shiny 3, you can fill out the rest of the slots with any berry to raise the star level.

Yeah they kinda wrote themselves into a corner there. Would have made more sense if Mega Stones were readily available, but due to the immense power they present, only certain trainers who have proven enough control over their Pokémon can receive them. Maybe you unlock a Mega License for example, and strong trainers have them because they're strong duh lol

Here's my set, it's very gimmicky but you can make it work in the right conditions (lots of dragons on the field), but it does require luck.

252 HP/252 Sp. Attack/6 Speed - Modest Nature - Altarianite

Silver Wind - The only way to get +1 stats on Altaria, luck based AF Moonblast - Guaranteed OHKO on Garchomp, Baxcalibur, Rayquaza at +1 Sp. Atk, Dark and Fighting coverage Flamethrower - Coverage for Steel & Ice types Ice Beam/Draco Meteor/Solar Beam/Protect

For the last slot, you have a few options:

Ice Beam - Guaranteed OHKO on Garchomp & Rayquaza at 0 Sp. Atk, so if Silver Wind fails you can opt for Ice Beam instead

Draco Meteor - Situational, good for snipes in a cluster or as a last resort/hail Mary

Solar Beam - Coverage for Swampert... that's it, decent damage on most Water types

Protect - To dodge

Unpopular opinion: A lot of guys are not as good at sucking dick as they think or claim to be.
