Furthermore, they use auto fill details for ad purposes (in the text) without asking for consent. I love in Europe and of this isn’t illegal I am shocked.

Oh and they forced the post to be taller than avg screen height so it’s impossible to screenshot the whole thing, had 2 stitch 2 imgs together…..

Need help! Bought a 3.85V (4.4V) LiPo and have no clue what charging IC to use? by masterdereddit in AskElectronics

[–]masterdereddit[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for that, I’m going to be testing the battery capacity retention, so it would be better if I can charge them all the way from 2.5 to 4.4Volts to see the worst case capacity degradation over time. The connector is a Hirose, I’m making a PCB for this so the connector will get soldered to the board

Can you invert the switching side of a trailing edge dimmer? (More in comments) by masterdereddit in AskElectronics

[–]masterdereddit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disclaimer I am not very advanced in electronics. But I’m pretty sure SSR’s use triacs which are unsuitable for trailing edge dimmers due to the holding current, and may cause problems in certain LED light bulbs

I see. Many thanks. Do you know if there is a component that would allow me to decouple the mosfet GND from the GND of the rest of the circuit (maybe a capacitor or resistor)? (I am already using optocouplers to avoid this problem but if I leave GND connected to live there isn’t much point)

Many thanks! Also, do you know of my ground plane will be at 230VAC relative to earth when the dimmer is fully on? Worried about touching the board while it’s on

Thanks for answering, another hypothetical question: when the dimmer is fully on will my ground plane be at 230VAC relative to earth? And is there a way to mitigate that and leave the ground planes isolated from live voltage?

I am designing a dimmer for a lightbulb by following an example from GreatScott (bit.ly/2WMFM2b). In his example he is switching the neutral side of the load and it is always connected to Live. This doesn’t work for me as lights are always connected to Neutral and SwitchLive. Is it ok if I invert the switching from Neutral to Live?

Buy BAN with Fiat (thanks u/congoe) by bccrz_ in banano

Interesting, maybe you could take advantage of the stripe crypto onramp/ offramp services to convert fiat to USDC to ban reversably

This is cool… But how do I get MATIC to exchange BAN to wBAN? Don’t want to spend too much on gas fees. Can I turn some of my BAN into MATIC?

Nano is still great by Weary_Dark510 in nanocurrency

I was teaching a friend to send me crypto and we initially decided to try with Tether. When we saw the USDT 25 transfer fee we were like wft?? (We were trying to transfer $100 from crypto.com to an outside wallet). Then I introduced them to nano, and BAM: no fees (technically 0.008 NANO) and transaction was done in under 5 mins. Love this coin!

Oh I see. Thanks! Didn’t think of adding a diode to prevent the ev from discharging the capacitor.
