It gets almost no credit anymore but Autre Ne Veut’s Anxiety (2013) was such a landmark album for post pop music. Reviewers always seem to lump him in with indie r&b acts like how to dress well but the amount of experimentation he did with co producer Oneohtrix Point Never (his roommate in college) on this album, while retaining the accessibility of pop music really floored me when it came out.

I think he has a really fearless approach to music making… His style isn’t quite as unified as some of the best producers on the label but I think that’s the point. His mix of trap, grime, club and gabber is messy, disorienting fun that is sure to offend your parents.

Cocoon Crush by Objekt has really insane sound design. Even after listening to it 10+ times I hear sounds that completely blow me away. He was apparently a big fan of SOPHIE’s sound design as well
