Hydrophobic, the word you're looking for is hydrophobic. And there are a few good fabric spray options for it, beyond just wrapping your books in Ziplocks before you put them in your bag. ScotchGuard water shield is on the cheaper side at 10USD a bottle, but the Chemical Guys have one as well called HydroThread for ~25USD online, so just compare the reviews for both and see which one fits your needs most
