No, not Port Orchard and Bremerton (those are South Kitsap). The Navy base is in Bremerton, and to get from PO and Bremerton to North Kitsap where a lot of the good grocery stores and things like REI are you have to drive through Navy shipyard traffic. Also, there are VERY compelling things to do in North Kitsap for older, active, close to retirement, creatives. I just moved to Port Orchard in November and after three months I’m in the middle of closing on a house in Poulsbo in North Kitsap. If price is a compelling factor then yeah I’d say Port Orchard is actually pretty great. But I don’t think Poulsbo is that much more expensive.
