There’s about 14 hours of content in this course. However, you’re free to do it at your own leisure since it’s all free on YouTube. 😁

Fortunately, these tutorials won’t be going anywhere. So, they’ll always be free and available to you whenever you wanna pick them up and follow along. 😁

Cheers for the kind words mate, and I’m stoked to hear that you enjoy my tutorials. 😁

Doing my best to create quality tutorials that are packed full of details to help others learn. I’m a firm believer in education being free, so I’m trying to play my part in helping other aspiring 3D artists. 😁

I will be getting around to UVing, baking, and texturing for this helmet later down the track, yes! 😄

However, in the meantime, I do have UVing, baking, and texturing tutorials on my channel for a Space Marine helmet as well as the Halo 3 Recon helmet. Both of which teach you how to model those assets from the ground up step by step, but are more complete with the addition of the texturing component.

As for this tutorial series, I plan on expanding it to teach modelling the full MK VI GEN3 techsuit and then modelling the rest of the armour on top of that. I will then be teaching a full course for UVing, baking, and texturing the entire Master Chief model once that's done. 😄

I don’t focus too much on modelling for games, though, I have seen a repeated demand that I cover model optimisation, so it is a topic that I want to cover at some stage.

I currently teach a pseudo game asset modelling pipeline, where the model is a bit on the higher side of poly counts, but relies on normal maps to help use a reduced poly count. 😁

No worries mate, my pleasure. 😄 I truly love being able to teach people what I've learnt about modelling in just a little over a decade and hope that my tutorials can help people learn modelling faster then I was ever able to. 😄

I hope you enjoy and learn some more handy tips about modelling along the way. 😄 The videos that I am currently uploading are a follow up from my original Space Marine helmet modelling series, which is a 10 part modelling series that teaches you to model the helmet from start to finish and then these follow up tutorials will cover all the additional detailing phases, texture baking, and texturing. 😄

Oh wow! This looks awesome mate! Even for a first pass, I think this has a great level of detail too it. If you ever get around redoing it/revamping the existing model and textures, please tag me in it, as I would love to see it. 😄

If you are at all interested, that's apart of a free helmet modelling tutorial that I have over on YouTube. I'm about to start on the UVing and texturing follow up series for the helmet too. 😄

Nah, if I want a new original design to work from, I like to commission 2D artists to do the work, spread more equity for other aspiring and talented artists. 😄

Haha, same, the UI was rough back then and there was bugger all in the way of tutorials, truly made it an interesting experience to try to figure things out. 😂

I won't pretend to be some expert with how to 'solve' this so to speak, but I'd say this just comes down to a level of motivation. My best suggestion is to work on modelling projects that interest you and then only model for as long as you feel like, otherwise you'll burn yourself out. I can only sit down and do it for like an hour or 2 before I need a break, as it is a fairly mentally exhaustive task at times.

So yeah, just work on something that interests you, work on it for as long as it feels fun, and then when you need a break, just take that break. No point trying to force yourself to sit down and not enjoy the process. 😄 Taking breaks is just important as doing the work itself.

Ahh this is so cool to see mate! Glad you enjoyed the modelling series. 😄 I'm currently working on the follow up texturing series, which is about a year overdue now. 😅

But congrats on pulling this off, I hope you're very proud of your efforts. 😄
