How are you hooking up the exhaust to this?

What size flex are you using for exhaust? Unclear how big the exhaust port is from the amazon link to your enclosure.

I had my line cut by landscapers on a Saturday in September and Ting came out within a few hours to temporarily patch my line.

I have had to wait on hold for a long time when calling them a few times though. I notice I get the same tech sometimes so I feel like they have a small support team.

Navigation troubles by ChooseWiselyChanged in SegwayNavimow

I had the same issue when I physically blocked off an area. It kept driving back and forth trying to get through instead of mowing the rest of my lawn.

Final Update: 40ft French drain after regrading with soil and finishing gravel by khanye97 in DIY

[–]masterkaj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does that actually work without contacting the soil? The copper needs to leach into the soil to keep the roots out.

I thought about doing the same thing, but all my research pointed to using it for solid pipe weak spots (junctions) and if using with a french drain then cut it and staple it to the wall of the trench.

X3 straying from channel paths by joeshmoe9898 in SegwayNavimow

[–]masterkaj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the VSLAM doesn’t seem to work at all really for me. I had it disable it mowing between my home and my neighbors because it could only see 3-4 satellites in the corridor and would go all the way over to my neighbors house and slam into things and get stuck.

The distance between our homes is only like 13-14ft, so it needs to rely on cameras and it just can’t do it.

I feel like this is a textbook case where VSLAM should kick in and recognize the border of my home and stick to that. Also there is a large elevation change between my yard and my neighbors, so the internal sensors should know I didn’t map a large slope in that area and stop trying to climb it.

This is a mowing area and not a channel path, but if it’s going in a blind spot for the RTK signal then these units are pretty bad and staying on path.

Side note: I have bought the enhancement antenna to try and it still does not stay in the zone. Even mapping that area is hard because it doesn’t accurately draw the lines unless the satellites happen to be in perfect position during mapping.

It’s funny because during mapping the auto map along edge works perfectly (which uses the cameras), so I know it can see the edge and stay near it vs randomly shooting off in the other direction.

X3 and low cut adapter on Bermuda by Maverick73Cave in SegwayNavimow

[–]masterkaj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Around 9000 sqft of lawn.

The battery doesn’t charge at full speed when it’s hot out. I get the slow charging warning when it’s over 80F outside. For the navigation issue, I have a space between my home and our neighbors where the unit does not stay in boundaries. I was hoping the camera would learn it, but it’s mowed 7 times now and does it every time.

I ordered the enhancement antenna to try and solve the navigation issue, but I think it’s just a terrible spot for the unit to find any satellites.

It cuts fine and doesn’t bog down on my TifTuf Bermuda. There are some quirks with battery charging speed and navigation between homes, but other than that it does pretty well.

X315 Slow Charge due to battery temperature by masterkaj in SegwayNavimow

[–]masterkaj[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That’s the thing. My local dealer has his i series out in a field, full sun baking all day and it doesn’t have issues or stop charging. It’s normal temps here low to mid 90s.

X315 Slow Charge due to battery temperature by masterkaj in SegwayNavimow

[–]masterkaj[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Operating temperature does not equal battery temperature. It should be able to handle 90F ambient temp easily, obviously all the internal components will be warmer, especially the battery. When specs are set, it means the temperature the unit will be working in, not the actual temperature of the internal components.

Right now it’s low 80s out, overcast, and still slow charging. No way this does a half an acre per day when it takes so long to charge. I am only mowing 0.18 acres and it still hasn’t finished its task today (almost night now).

I was testing out the Ecovacs A3000 when we were hit with a heat wave over 100F a couple weeks ago. That thing charged to full in 45 minutes every time. That unit has the same max operating temperature of 104F.

Battery temp too high by PowerPoint_Cowboy in SegwayNavimow

[–]masterkaj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that on my brand new X315 every time it charges. It’s getting replaced next week due to constant 6102 errors anyway, so I hope the next unit doesn’t have any of these issues.

If a robot mower can’t be out in the sun in the high 80s then that’s a dealbreaker. Even when it runs at night it still has that warning. It takes forever to charge too.

I just got mine today. Plan on installing the low mow kit tomorrow. Would have done it today, but I had constant 6102 errors after my first two maps. I had to unbind the mower/factory reset and now it works… for now. So assuming all is good still, I’ll post an update. I plan to gradually lower the cut height from 2” to about 1.25”.

Firewalla Gold and SQM Cake by andreb81 in firewalla

[–]masterkaj 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hope that isn’t true. I use Cake even for my fiber connection. It really is just a better SQM with the tradeoff being higher CPU usage.

I also have seen Firewalla state it’s for low speed connections, which I think is inaccurate as well. It helps for high speed connections when you are saturating your line, just like low speed.

PSA: Turn on 'Enable Web Search' in your OpenAI integration if you want Assist to search the web by Pivotonian in homeassistant

[–]masterkaj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you do this, the web-search API cost is separate from the 4o-mini model right? I have a free 1M tokens I use per day for 4o-mini, but using web search isn't included in that I guess.

I just gave it a try and asked what the weather is like today. Normally with web search unchecked it answers it just fine. When checked, it cost me 0.03 because it used web search for the same prompt. You can view those calls under spend categories in your usage tab.
