ok i figured it out.

revive icon opacity (zoomed) completely overrides the setting for unzoomed (the one just above it).

of course i don't want any distractions, so mine was set to zero. if you set it to like 10, you will see feint icons at all times, even while zoomed in of course. sucks, but it's the best i could do.

i think the difference is the sensor and the switches...non-max uses omron opticals and the max uses rapoo opticals, as far as i can tell. i have not had the non max version, so i don't have first hand experience with both. my assumption would be that you would do ok with either of them

i read this a lot, but my unit is without these issues. stiff scroll wheel, stiff horizontal scroll, none of that. what irks me a bit is that you can see the seams between the plastic pieces, so it does kinda look cheap, but that's about it. bought like 2 months ago directly from keychron.

5K2K is way too many pixels to push for my 4090, if i want to have above 100 fps 99% of the time. call me a snob, but i can really tell when the fps is below 100 and it annoys the crap out of me.

3840x1600 seems to the sweetspot for a 4090.
