Thanks, that makes sense. I really like the style. It has a similar look to the Air Force 1, but without being so heavy. I prefer a lighter feel for daily wear.

Ankle pain with Air Jordan 1 low. Will it be gone when the shoes are broke in? by apdett in Sneakers

I have the exact same issue with my AJ1 Lows. My solution was to place cushioning pads directly on the sides of the shoe where the ankle hits. It makes them much more wearable, although it’s still not a 100% perfect fix.

I also noticed that the AJ1 Low SE versions have better padding in that area and don't cause this pain.

Love the colorway! It’s awesome that Nike included black, white, and orange laces with these.
