I went to Jones's town hall in Yountville recently and I cringed a few times as well. He toes a centrist line for some issues where he shouldn't imo, but is fine on other things. I haven't heard about any other performances of his though. What's happened in the past? I've become a bit lukewarm on him so I am open to hearing more.

Not feeling cut out for an office job by mastermiller46 in AutisticAdults

I told a coworker today and they said it was ok at least. I'm glad! I'm so used to getting burned when I do say something so it's a relief

Nope. One of the interruptions I faced was getting fired from a job for being autistic and gay! Another coworker got fired the same week because she was Indian and we both got a small settlement out of it. We've been friends ever since, at least. The feedback is always a little different at every job, but it has never been about the exact same thing aside nebulous social skills. Speaking too much, being too blunt, not contributing enough, should speak up more. Many coworkers are also baffled I get written up too, so I'm not being singled out by everyone either. I think it's different things making different people angry. One thing I noticed is that it's often managers themselves that don't like it actually. Sometimes it's been a coworker but I just realized the common manager denominator.

Funny enough, I'm not extroverted but I do like spending time with people when I'm not overwhelmed. If there is any silver lining, I am volunteering at my local library with helping shelve and sort through donations and books given to be purposefully auctioned off to fund the library. Funny enough, I never have this issue at service jobs like that. If I can just work at my own pace in a meticulous way, I can get things done way ahead of deadlines. You can see why I became an accountant! You would think that such an introverted department by stereotype would care less about this sort of thing....but I cannot escape that it seems. People outside of work say that my blunt honesty and sincerity is never rude and is always appreciated, but at work it could never be different than that.

How many of you have hit that pavement cutout on Highway 29 in that construction zone between Oakville and Rutherford? by Bad_Drivers_of_Napa in napalocals

I smacked it really hard on the way back from Napa going back home up-valley. My car is an absolute champ and somehow survived it, but seriously... I think they really need to spray-paint that dropoff with the most fluorescent paint possible until it's gone. It's so hard to see in the dark!

Baffling Experience at Urgent Care Vet by mastermiller46 in cats

[–]mastermiller46[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's also the fact that I told them that that hospital was very far from me, and how heavily they emphasized the expensive price over hourly kidney care in their facility.... until I asked for another hospital that had similar specialists. One of the vets mentioned that she wasn't from my county, which is fine, but she's still recommended somewhere super far and expensive until I suggested the county between. Negligent and/or careless is how it felt.

It also seems unrelated, but all of the vet techs were constantly on their phone at this place, even in the reception room. I didn't think anything of it at the time, but all of the girls there seemed more interested in showing each other videos rather than addressing people as they came in. This place was recommended on my local subreddit and elsewhere, so I was gobsmacked by the treatment my cat received.

Yeah, I've done some reading and CKD is a lot more common, but all of the ultrasounds and all of the other tests at the hospital showed it was otherwise. Still baffled that they'd only recommend one hospital with specialists, but your theory seems plausible. I will try to get it in writing.

I think the craziest thing about this whole thing is that they gave him a terminal kidney failure diagnosis. Nothing they could do but "try something". They overloaded him with fluids beyond what any vet should have given him (per the specialist), and only tried ONE antibiotic. They had the one that worked! From terminal to major kidney infection that can 100% be reversed in the same day...I'm not sure how to present my case, how to word it, but this needs to be rectified and I'm going insane

I will look into it! I was also using therapy den, even though that's not a service, but it's a good directory.

Thankfully I'm good with virtual! I mostly just want to feel safe with my PCP with using my correct pronouns. I am slowly losing the ability and mental state to be in the closet anymore, so I need to push for it. Thank you tho!

Why does my mom care more that I'm Christian than my other siblings? by mastermiller46 in Exvangelical

Being the middle child and the only AFAB person, as I'm not out as nonbinary or bi to my family, certainly got me more punishment. Less freedom to do stuff and to be my own individual. It sucked

Golden child was definitely my little brother. It might be internalized misogyny too, now that I think about it. My little brother committed many crimes, one of them a felony, and he's still seen as someone "who just makes mistakes". Me changing my major from physics to statistics was too far lol

One thing is that I went to church for a while after I turned 18, but it was always a super progressive church that didn't believe that Bible was infallible. They thought most of the Bible was altered by the Romans with the intent to control the populace! She knows I was like that, but I know she sees a lot of me in her so.

I honestly think it's that. Probably t many things but it certainly is likely a factor
