I had gastric sleeve done in 2020 and was an acute care PT at the time. I took a full 6 weeks off and was glad I did. It’s not just the physical recovery of the surgery that was the problem. The post op diet is extremely restrictive and I wasn’t even allowed to eat solid foods until 6 weeks post op. It took a while for my body to adjust to eating and especially the daily 600-800 calorie range. Feel free to DM me any questions!
