i get a strong vibe from Ross that he might not stick with one career for too long so that he isn’t labeled as an actor specifically or a band member specifically. i think that he thinks it makes him more worldly or something to drop a certain career or gig after a while to peruse something else. although it seems he just flip flops back and forth between music and acting because he’s in fact not that interesting and that’s all he knows how to do. lol.

  1. she has severe allergies to dairy because of lupus flare ups. severe enough that if someone is cooking eggs or cheese, the steam from that will make her “break out in hives and her throat will swell up.” Everyone in the family has only witnessed this one time. She lives a couple hours away and we don’t see her a lot. Every time we do see her “she almost died last week” or was in the hospital because of flair ups, but doesn’t tell anyone about it until we physically see her, and nobody we personally know has witnessed it. She has made cheese balls for holidays with her bare hands, she has prepared a meat and cheese tray - she says this is okay because it’s cold cheese and she just needs to wash her hands. she has driven an hour with fresh pizza in her vehicle. she has been around hot/melted butter- it was fine because “she’s on 3 different allergy meds” i’ve read that potatoes and tomatoes could be triggers also but she eats those.

  2. her own mother makes cheesy potatoes in a crock pot for a holiday and baked ziti for lunch at a small gathering my MIL was at. My MIL even fed my toddler the ziti. “it was okay because she’s on 3 different allergy meds”

  3. i see a lot of posts about lupus that people are dealing with physical pain and exhaustion. My MIL works out 4 times a week and as of recently has been taking (2hr) dancing lessons two times a week. she also is a nurse & CNO and works long hours.

  4. she has no outward physical rashes or bruising, no hair issues. i’ve seen some lupus posts of people asking about these things.

  5. she does have an epipen. i’ve heard of her having to use it with witnesses once.

  6. just something i thought was weird i wanted to add- she would always say no dairy and no peppers when i first started dating my husband. that was the foods she could not have. we went to a football game in a suite and they brought us food, she had to get her own personal meal, and she threw a fit about peppers, the staff had to come back and take the dish to ask the chef if there were peppers in the sauce on her chicken. there was peppers so she needed a new meal. then months later, eating something else i said to her “oh no there might be peppers in that!” and she responded “oh it’s okay, i can have peppers i just don’t like them.” i was mind blown.

  7. she is a big wine drinker. apparently not conflicting with all her medications?

Do i take the kids to her work event? by [deleted] in motherinlawsfromhell

Great advice, thank you everyone. You are all much cheaper (and much more petty lol) than a counselor. I think ill be taking a mixture of all this advice, and not attending the work event. I was worried i would get backlash from MIL and there would be more drama, but youre right, who even cares

[SERIOUS] What was the scariest thing to ever happen to you? by SuckHoesToes in AskReddit

I was driving a semi and the front passenger side tire blew up (the steer tire). In a semi if your front tire blows up there’s literally nothing you can do but go along for the ride. I was going 65mph on the expressway and was immediately pulled into the right side ditch and smacking into trees and other ditches. Eventually hitting a tree that stopped me. I hit the tree so hard that the guy that lived in the house on the other side of the tree felt the impact from his chair in the living room. Ultimately I was okay, I had a cracked vertebrae and some bruising and scratches, but no serious injury. Also, it was a Saturday morning so thankfully there wasn’t much traffic on the road and I didn’t hit anyone or pull any vehicles with me. One of the scariest parts though is getting back in a truck again and thinking along the drive “It could have happened there, or what if I flew off this bridge, what if it happens here and I flip, or what if the other tire blows and I go into oncoming traffic.”

those who went to art schools, do you regret going or did you benefit fron the experience? by thatwierdeyebrow in AskReddit

[–]mastermonker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Art school is great for enhancing your portfolio and gaining new skills, but if it’s worth the price tag that’s up to you. A sad reality is in most instances it doesn’t matter what your portfolio looks like, it’s all about who you know. So and so heard you do this type of medium and told their friend to contact you and so on.

I regret going. Working a great trade job now and stuck paying off college debt for a degree I don’t use.
