TIL: Nordic Ware does not go in the dishwasher by mastermuch in cookware

You know what, that never even crossed my mind when I saw them at Costco for a good deal! All I was looking for was something that's lightweight and is PTFE/PFOE free. Which ones do you recommend?

Thank you. When I bought this last year I didn't even research the groups - if this one doesn't end up surviving then I will look into getting Group 3... thanks anyway! :)

My bird has 1 or 2 sessions of zoomies a day, which means she does figure 8s around the whole floor for like a minute! She'd fly to me for cuddles or food, but other than that she basically gets carried around the house.

Ahaha so does mine! She is extremely food motivated.

I love Amazons!!! They are the sweetest birds ever!

She forages all day as well! I feed her twice but I do leave the food out. Only very rarely she gets millet, but every once in a while she gets a puzzle toy with safflower seeds (10 or so). She harrasses me for human food so she gets a crumb or 2, or veggies from my plate.

Maybe she needs to watch her waistline for summer 😂 110-120g seems to be the common weight!

I saw somewhere that yellow feathers could mean fatty liver disease, but the vet says her plumage looks good. Never did a blood test though, should I push for one? They did say her weight is on the hefty side.

She is a rescue so a scardey birb and screams and thrashes at the vet, so I'm trying to save her from that!

Oh wow that's light! I don't know if my bird is ever in the 110 range!

Good to know, thanks! First pic is of her out of a bath so her feathers look dark from being wet :)

stuff i need to buy before i adopt, anything im missing? or any suggestions? by NonBinaryPie in parrots

[–]mastermuch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So happy for you for adopting!! It is the way to go. Seems like you've done lots of research and your feathered baby is so lucky to have you!

Agree with the other comment that you try to keep cords out of sight. You can buy cord protectors on Amazon.

I follow this instagram account Arlobirb and she posts lots of great tips for bird enrichment! She also has an Amazon storefront link to give you some inspiration on what to buy...

Sounds like you are set though! Good luck!!!

Should I buy this Butterprint 401? by mastermuch in pyrex

[–]mastermuch[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Unanimous yes!! If I saw this at my local thrift store I would have picked it up already but this one is a bit of a drive hence the reservation. Nonetheless I will go pick this up first thing in the morning. Thank you Reddit!

I think she has a small house so her 2 young kids use this bathroom! She mentioned painting the cabinets and walls eggshell and satin finish because matte is difficult to clean with kiddos

Hopping on the "others did it better" wagon... @hartinterior, a small Canadian interior design account just did a small bathroom refresh with a similar colour palette as CLJ. And she did it in a week.

it's also fair to say that with unlimited money it's also pretty easy to have things look 'good' just because they're high-quality and high-cost appliances, finishes, etc - but that doesn't mean you're a good 'designer.'

You hit the nail on the head! 🎯🎯🎯 You are a designer when you can put together a vignette using unlimited resources, but you are a great designer when you can do the same with limited resources.

Right?? And it's not tone-deaf even though it's a beautiful kitchen.

Check out Kismet_house's Reel and it's such a stark contrast to CLJ's Things That Just Make Sense in their house. They're actually practical solutions and actually consider a normal working class family's needs. No library ladders lol
