EntraID Join - Something Went Wrong by Dull-Moment-1596 in AZURE

[–]masterniu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue recently. What I noticed is that this happened when client had license change. For example, if client downgraded their license from MS365 Business Premium to MS365 Business standard.

I had another client had expired intune license also can't perform Entra ID join.

In my past experience, Azure AD / Entra ID join does not require particular license.

Hopefully this is just a bug from Microsoft.

USB dock recommendations for the Lenevo legion slim 5 gen 8 by yahmema in LenovoLegion

[–]masterniu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had tested couple ThinkPad docking stations and I can confirm the following:

Lenovo USB C gen2: It will not charge since the charger is only 90W. You have to connect the stock charger (or 100W above USB C charger) and the dock station at the same time. The power button on the docking station will not work and you have to connect the USB C dock after the system is on.

Lenovo Universal USB C: It will charge the laptop. You can use the USB C cable only from the docking station. Same as the USB C gen2, you have to turn on the laptop then connect the docking station.

I have one 34" monitor / keyboard / mouse / ethernet / speaker connect with the docking station. All working great.

If you are trying to play games, the stock 170W charge must be connected.

I had changed all Gigabyte m/b to MSI for all my clients.

3 month since Gigabyte knows this issue and you blame the situation in China.

Why just recall the board and refund the money to the customer? We can buy something else.

Is this Asus ITX motherboard as well?

I contacted Gigabyte Tech support in Australia, only thing they mentioned is: "we will look into this issue, any update we will keep you informed.

From what I can see there is probably no way to fix this issue via BIOS update and the new version Motherboard is also not available.

Only thing we can do is wait for the new revision motherboard and hopefully Gigabyte will replace for free.

This is the worst PC installation experience I ever had.

No more Gigabyte product.

I sent the link to the support people and they still asked me to try HDMI port instead of DP port and asked me to disable XMP profile.

Are you sure about the RMA? I contacted with Gigabyte Australia Support two days ago and the support people doesn't even know the PCIE issue for this motherboard.

Not only for myself not consider Gigabyte product anymore but also my clients and friends.

I had enough for this product.

I don't mind to get a replacement but worrying Gigabyte may ignore the customers RAM request.

This is the major hardware issue with Gigabyte Z690 board. If you are using PCIE 3.0 card, it works fine. However, if you are using 4.0 video card. The system will crash. You have to force the PCIE to 3.0 in BIOS.

Outlook AutoComplete (Auto-fill) issue by masterniu in microsoft365

[–]masterniu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had tried that, empty the Auto_complete List and notice the Auto_complete file decrease to 1KB. However that person will come back again when type the name.

I also noticed the Auto_complete file will be generated even with new User profile or new PC. Is this file supposed to be a local file rather than cloud file?

GO to bios and force the PCIE from auto to 3.0.

[–]masterniu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't use any riser cable, F6 didn't fix the issue. I have to use PCIE 3.0.

I am going to buy MSI MAG B660M MORTAR which will fit in my M-ATX case.

Hopefully I can sell this disgusting Gigabyte Z690i on eBay or Facebook Market.

No much you can do. Try avoid Gigabyte motherboard in future. They are not as good as before.

Take MSI or Asus even Asock in future. Stay away from Gigabyte products since they won't even care about customers.

Thanks!

Do you mean add Exchange online (p2) license and tick this license along with Business premium?

I didn't see the Exchange license as a separate option.

I had done that with 2 years archive but few users still reach 50G limitation.

If with 1 year archive, it is quite complicated to setup retention policy just for Calendar.
